I am having an issue where...quite literally I cannot have any other programs open while SWTOR is running, if I try, the other programs and SWTOR go wonky. freezing, etc.

But this only started today, and I'm not sure what changed, I didn't do anything to SWTOR or anything else I run, I made no changes to my PC.

SWTOR runs just fine when I have nothing else open, and I do not have this issue with the other 3 games I have on this PC.

What cpu do you use?

probably easier to just go ahead and link the computer I have. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09RMH9B6F/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 that one. It should not have any issues running this game.

I am going to try and run it without Steam and see if that solves the issue.

Odds are the cpu is the bottleneck, particularly if its slower if there's other programs open. Examining the performance of the cpu in task manager would be the first step. Other than that ensure the laptop's not going into any sort of power saving mode.

well, I'm looking at the task manager and SOMETHING is using 70-something percent of my memory, and it isn't SWTOR. because it's not running right now.

#

this is really weird because all of the processes running do not add up to 77% of my memory. the largest thing on the list is my web browser at like 300mb.

I think I may have found my culprit, going to test and see. Microsoft Edge updated recently and added some new crap that made the browser continually run in the background, even when closed.

which may be screwing with my graphics card memory. I dunno, I'll see.
