I don't know what to do in this top right corner of the screen tbh, any ideas would help a lot. Maybe some ratings of the game or any ideas you have?

Do not like the thumbnail one bit, honestly

#

It is not optimised for youtube and even if that wasn't the case

#

it can be significantly improved

Good timing. I have an updated version here

#

(Also yt thumbnails are 1920 by 1080, trust me I checked)

firstly a good rule of thumb is to make sure the thumbnail and title convey as much informtion to the viewer whilst insighting a bit of curiousity. So they should have no words of overlap in my opinion so a title that says "explaining the 2008 crash" should have words in the thumbnail along the lines of "everything was gone" or "it was so bad" which hopefully drives curiousity to click for example

#

your second version is an eye sore, I got to be blunt. The background and colors do not match well at all. If I was you, figure out a color scheme that helps your character/fursona pop more. Since you got a blue n white character you chould see a black background or a red background to help contrast the blue character

#

next thing I would change is the text. You should have text as a focus on the thumbnail (in general) and your text here isn't visable to someone scrolling past. I would suggest making it bigger and cover more area

I went for the static background to go for a TV theme, maybe removing my sona would help?

the first one is better than the second one

#

ehhhh

#

up to you, I use my character in my thumbnails to help build a brand and it can do the same for your case

#

but right now a lot has to change for the thumbnail to help stand out a bit more

#

you could make the background the actual game you are viewing instead? I would recommend watching a few thumbnail video tips since it would helpt

#

that's my opinion anyways

Thx. I've just tried making the static red to help with that issue, I don't usually like to just make the game art the background with no edits or twists as tbh, to me it's quite lazy

#

As for the text, I'm not sure what to do

Make it larger, remove the white background, change the font and maybe move it to the upper middle bit to make it pop more. Thats my suggestion

#

And I disagree with your point, sometimes simplier is better and I am not saying to just have the background as the thumbnail, I am suggesting making it the background alongside other bits like your fursona and text and other bits like the other characters you got on there

#

but the static has to go 100%

onyx sable
#

What's wrong with it?

#

Like, tv theme aside, the static is symbolic to aspect of the game's story, which uses static as a visual to show the in-game characters/villains escaping the TV world

its an eye sore? Thumbnails need to be eye grabbing not eye repelling. I mean its your choice at the end of the day. Maybe I am being a bit harsh but to me the static isn't something done often becuase it doesn't work to help attract viewers

#

True but it doesn't need to be the background

onyx sable
#

Ig static probably works better with horror stuff the more I think about it

better but there is way to much text

#

usually you keep it to less than 5-10 words on the thumbnail
