8 Months Later - Is every video still like stepping in shit?

Hi, guys! About 8 months ago set myself of learning video editing. I pretty much immediately decided that I wouldn’t really know whether I was learning anything unless I also had an audience for it, so I decided to also create a YouTube channel as an outlet.

Months down the line, I am not only learning more about video editing but it has also become a bit of a hobby and a creative outlet in its own way, with any views and subs being a fun bonus.

However, feedback on the YouTube platform usually comes in the form of cold hard statistics. At this point I would love to get some actual human feedback on what’s working, what’s not working, and what outright sucks.

I am open to feedback on any part of the channel or the videos and thumbnails. Whether I am able to change based on your feedback or not, any thoughts you’re willing to share is much appreciated as it gives important feedback that navel gazing probably won’t get me.

Hey man, just wanted to say that I like your videos, I watched a little of your linked video and a a bit of your most viewed. Here are the main two observations I had:

1. In your latest video in your cold open you swear a lot, if I'm not mistaken this harms the quantity of impressions you get, so perhaps consider using a censor of some kind.
2. Your highest viewed videos seem to be tutorial style videos, I've never played ARC raiders video but watching your video made me want to try! I think the tutorial style videos show off your best skills in editing and script writing!

Thanks, mate! Really appreciate the comment and insights. In hindsight I can definitely see that the up-front profanity may also be detrimental to audience retention - depending on who the audience is. Adding a beep instead might be a fun inclusion, so maybe I can try that in the future or just avoid it entirely 🧐
