Hi! So i’ve just released a new video to my channel, and whilst I know minecraft letsplays are mildly doomed, I still thought it would perform better!!
I’m mostly looking for feedback on my thumbnail, since I was really proud of this videos quality (at least for me) but it really flopped and I fear the title and thumbnail are to blame.
However would still love feedback in general, there’s always room for improvement in sound and video :))
Thank you!

I really like the formatting of the video.

The problem with a lot of letsplay is that its a series, and if people havent watched since the beginning, they can’t follow. So they either 1) don’t watch at all or 2) watch but churn quickly bcz they can’t follow.

But i think you have found a great balance between making it a continuous serie but also making the video stand it’s own, without the watcher needing to watch the other episodes before that to follow. I think it’s because of your storytelling and that you use a lot if third person angles and stuff and keep the video filled with entertainment and commentary.

I think that’s why you should maybe perhaps double down on the fact that this video feels more like a stand alone video then part of a serie. I think a lot of people just don’t click on a title or thumbnail that says any episode after episode 1 (unless they’ve watched the previous episodes), because they know they couldn’t follow. It’s like no one would begin by watching episode 9 of a Netflix show, it just doesn’t make sense.

If you instead format your title and thumbnail in a way where it feels more like standalone video, but then briefly mention after your hook and maybe after the initial payoff of the video that this is also an ongoing part of a letsplay, that you’d have a higher CTR and watchtime. At the end of the day, people would click and watch this video, not because its part of a letsplay, but because they just wanted to watch this specific video. The letsplay element is more like a bonus for people that want to see more of videos like these

Hope this helps :)

Woww thank you so much this is amazing advice!! I do agree, I realise that most letsplays that succeed are often not obviously series. It makes a lot of sense! I will definitely have a try at this. Thank you again for the feedback
