Hey everyone, I need honest, constructive feedback on my channel strategy and my thumbnails (image attached). You can check out the channel here: https://www.youtube.com/@Mr.Swaggerton/videos. I'm hitting a wall trying to figure out why my content isn't being pushed and what my next steps should be.
I know no one knows me, so my CTRs are currently low (2.0%–3.4%), which tells me my thumbnails aren't working and I need to figure out how to be unique.
Performance Data Summary with recent videos:
Farming Sim: 600 impressions, 18 views, 2.0% CTR, 3:00 Avg. duration (Low effort).
Valorant: 1.7K impressions, 71 views, 2.4% CTR, 3:30 Avg. duration (High effort).
GTA: 5K impressions, 183 views, 2.6% CTR, 2:00 Avg. duration (Medium effort, Most views overall, enjoyed making it).
Skibidi Toilet: 3.2K impressions, 148 views, 3.4% CTR, 14:25 Avg. duration (Best metrics, highly unexpected, minimally edited).
Questions:
- Thumbnails/Titles & Uniqueness: My CTRs seem to be poor because people don't know me. How can I make my visuals stand out? More importantly, what process or brainstorming methods can I use to generate unique ideas that compel a first-time viewer to click and keep watching?
- Long-Form Outlier: The long video length (Skibidi, 14:25 Avg. duration) was my biggest success. Should I focus on making more long videos with minimal editing? Why did it perform so well despite being boring and having minimal editing?
- Ideas and Editing: I feel like I have decent editing skills and good quality (Resolution, Audio, etc.) but the fundamental ideas seem to be lacking, garbage in - garbage out. Do the videos lack good ideas or is it more the editing could be improved?
