Video is an unboxing of Sabrina Carpenter's new album Man's Best Friend vinyl. I even talk about my experience at the listening party. My content is all things vinyl with a heavy focus on unboxing. This is the first thumbnail I've done in a while where the background isn't either a solid color or a gradient. I used to do me with my record set up in the back but that didn't feel right (felt too busy for a thumbnail).

Is the background too busy?
Do pictures of the goodies I got at the listening party (poster and bumper sticker) seem too much?
Do I need to add the words unboxing to the thumbnail (Something I typically do)?

Thanks for y'all's feedback!

Perhaps the thumbnail need to able give the person what is it going about.
If the person doesn't know the context on first glance, they might not click on it. Currently it has too much elements behind and it might cause distraction.

If I am viewer, I will saw a person holding a picture. Probably saw Sabrina Carpenter. Then I will be lost, because I can't grasp the context.

Depends on your goal, some people decided to have their person as focus, then your blur out your background. So it doesn't look too busy. The first glance will be on your person.

There are also some people doing showing their cooking, they blur everything and focus on their dishes. Perhaps a screenshot from video recording of you unboxing something screenshot ?

As for text, I personally do very few words, with some background color behind to make it pop.

If you are doing your person as thumbnail, close up normally works better.

You dont have to follow big creators, but you can follow how they position themselves. Some add glow to make themselves pop.
