So, I had an idea for a type of YouTube content and I wanted to know if you guys think there’s any feasibility to it. Basically, I was considering making mini “documentaries” about prehistoric animals. I made two little clips, which I’ve shared, to get a frame of reference of what they’d look like. Now, I know these clips are kind of garbage but I had a lot of fun making them. So, I basically want to know if you guys think they’d be worth making in entirety and posting on YouTube. I do currently have a very different style of making videos and they do well, and are honestly probably somewhat easier to make, but like I said, I had a lot of fun making these new ones and I wanted to get some thoughts. Thanks for any honest feedback you can provide!

I think it has potential definitely but more refinement is needed.
At its core the style + mini doc style is nice. But I personally would redo the voice over because it gives like reading a school presentation vibes.
I think for the second one its a bit drawn out in the beginning maybe cut that part in half and have the text come sooner but the music set a tone well when regarding a desert so that part is a plus.
It has a charm with the mspaint vibes so I don't see an issue with that. But main thing to work on is the voice over in my opinion
@oak ridge Thank you for your honest feedback! I agree the narration does give off school lesson vibes, and that is something I'd need to work on. Nevertheless, I'm glad to hear you think the idea has at least some potential. Now I think I just need to figure if doing videos in this new style would be worth the extra effort or not. Anyway, thanks sincerely for your thoughts!
A few things to get some extra tone in your voice or things I've seen recommend is
I personally move my hands while recording my voiceovers.
Some creators recommend light exercise like a jog before recording
Another has said they do jumping jacks before recording.
Duly noted, thank you! Even if I don't pursue this particular style of content, I'll keep that in mind when recording videos regardless
No problem. Best of luck man I think you have a winner of an idea or when it comes to this style or your past videos you made. I remember your animals found in 2024 video and it was a banger.
Thank you! I really appreciate that and am glad to hear you enjoyed that one
For anyone who comes across this post later: I've decided I'm not going to do this current content style; at least for now. Maybe in the future but for the time being, I think I'll settle with what I've been doing. Thanks anyway!
Commenting just to say I'm super charmed by the style of video this would be, and that if you do maybe do this in the future, that with the improvements mentioned above they could be real cool. Anywho. Cheers!
Thank you for your thoughts!
Yeah, I agree about it being too long and drawn out, I noticed it was 16 seconds before the video really started. Re images, have you tried Canva? I haven;t but i have heard great things and I'm going to give it a try.
