Hey good people!
One of my short video has exceptionally bad performance and I wonder why?!
The funny thing is, I thought this would be one of the best ones, well I was wrong 😄

4 days after upload I changed the Title and some of the # to see if it gets bumped back to the algorithm. No luck with that.
Please give it a look and tell me what I could have done differently.

Hm, I'm gonna be a little blunt here but I just don't think it's a good video. Sure, you did well by having good trigger discipline (nice play btw!) but I feel like this short needs more to emphasize what you are doing.

I haven't played CS since CS:GO but isn't there a way to view replays from matches? Because then you could maybe add some b-roll of the terrorists running past you from another angle (like it would be drone footage for example).

I didn't really get what your goal was initially and only realized the caption at the beginning when the short started again, so I guess many people would click off because of that because there is just not much happening at the beginning. Maybe you could add some sfx when the guys are running past? Just spitballing some ideas I had 😄

Also your reaction is just very unenthusiastic. You don't have to turn into an obnoxious yeller but at least some sort of emotion is necessary. Even when the enemy team is running past you, you are just completely quiet. And I get it, it's not easy to be entertaining while also focussing on the game but maybe you could practise saying something like "Guys, omg, they are all running past me" or something like this.

Thank you for the constructive criticism! I do agree that this video has no hook element, maybe I could have created that with a VOD as you suggested! And my reaction, well yeah I am an extremely relaxed person even in stressful situations I keep calm. I will work on that for better entertainment 😅. I created this post because I was a bit confused why this video preformed this bad, considering that some of my other videos are worse, and on top of that this video preformed really well on TikTok. I am new to YouTube and TikTok, I thought it had to do something with hashtags or the title. Thank you again for the response! ❤️

No problem, mate! And yeah, it's also totally fine that you are a calm person in general, that's also something you can use to your advantage. A bunch of streamers that I used to watch in the past were also more on the calm side of things but they still managed to be entertaining somehow, so maybe just watch some creators/streamers that have a similar attitude to you and then see how they react in moments like these

Also youtube is just tough in general and especially shorts can be a bit weird from what I can tell in terms of performance. I don't make shorts anymore but I used to on another channel and I never quite understood why they performed the way they did lol

Based on my research, the advice I heard the most is to be consistent… The rest was very generic or vague, and I do believe there is no golden rule when it comes to pushing content out, it’s ever changing. What worked a year ago won’t really work today… Anyway I’m having fun making these shorts 🩳 I will just keep doing them and experiment 😇 I might redo this clip with a hook element form a VOD and see how it goes

Yeah, consistency is definitely important but I think mostly because you simply get better from that. I would definitely recommend learning about storytelling and how to make engaging edits, I think that is the most important skill you have to learn for youtube. There is this youtube channel called "digital spaghetti" where they break down edits by popular creators and I find that stuff super helpful. Other than that, basic story structure is very important.

I just shared this same link in #video-creators, I can recommend this, it's by the South Park creators on how they structure their stories: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vGUNqq3jVLg

Great presentation from South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker on plotting using the key words “but” and “therefore.”
