Hi,

Could I get some feedback on this thumbnail please? Does it help you understand what the game entails?

The game is called Deadzone rouge and its a Space FPS Rougelike that has "horror" elements to it but isnt entirely a horror game. I tried to capture the aspects of the game within the thumbnail.

I havent decided on a title yet but it might be something along the lines of "I tried this FREE FPS Roguelike set in SPACE! │ Deadzone Rogue"

Tbh im not a huge fan of it too. It feels a bit crowded and the hair hasn't been cut very well. I might try to move things around a bit

It follows the same layout as your past thumbnails but I think its lacking in contrast.

Well its tough to say. Right now I think theres something missing. Like putting it side by side to your previous ultrakill thumbnails to me those win hands down.

I think the blue/black background is throwing me personally.

yeah very true, I had a hard time thinking of a thumbnail concept for this one. I could scrap it and try to think a little harder. I will admit I didnt consider as many options as I usually would for my ultrakill videos

So whats your thought process on your thumbnail and how long do you spend on them?

hm usually just brain storm for a couple mins about different ideas, if the game has a decent playerbase I look around to see if I can find ingame assets that might prompt some ideas. Time wise it depends, for ones like ultrakill where its a series, it takes about 5 mins to think of an idea and then like maybe 30 to execute it. Sometimes the first isnt the one I go with but it never usually deviates super far

for games that ive never played before I do a little research into thumbnails from other creators to see if theres an outstanding market in the niche, but lots of times for small games, the big channels just use their current audience and the smaller channels dotn have amazing ideas, so it can be tricky (hence my not so good thumbnail). I should have thought about it for a little longer tbh

So theres no set time on what makes a thumbnail and some are quicker to make but 35minutes to think of a concept + make it does seem a bit quick.

I don't have feedback but shouldn't it be roguelike instead of rougelike in the thumbnail? Or is this a pun about the game I don't get
