So i won a blue yeti mic in a raffle and i want to use it for streams and videos but it picks up everything. the thumps on my desk, my mouse moving, the fan in my room, the fan in my laptop, me clicking my keys,my bones popping it picks up absolutley EVERYTHING and no matter what settings i mess with i feel like i only make the sound louder. its not a problem on discord cause of soise supression but on obs nvidia and capcut i cant talk without whooooooooooshhhhh in the background. if anyone could offer some help that would be nice

your best bet is to add noise reduction in post in audacity or whatever audio editing software that has noise reduction
i also have a pretty sound sensitive mic, so whenever I do my voiceovers I make sure to not move around so I don't make any noise
like here's a really quick tutorial video if you need a place to get started

Have you tried switching the capture mode on the yeti? If i recall it has 4 modes
I belive you can also adjust the gain, though my experiance is only with the yeti nano. I tend to use the cartiod pattern. Omnidirectional tends to pick up everything. Also if its on a stand on the desk, i like putting it on something to shock absorb, like a folded up tea towel. Helps reduce the desk thumps in my experiance
That was before i got a shock absorbing boom arm
I forgot to mention, when it comes to streaming, if you use obs, you can apply noise suppression
For recording I'd recommend turning it off though so you can do it manually in post for more control over the audio in case the noise suppression is too harsh or smt like that
And where on the desk your mic is can matter, your options can vary for the different stands you use
Sometimes putting it higher up can help reduce some noises
i use one of these on my desk
the springs / extendors etc absorb most of the nudges / touches on the table and hence they are not picked up by the mic
the stand that comes with the blue yeti has never been used - because like you said, the mic would literally pick up the mouse moving on a mousepad
the Yeti does use have a wider screw (and most of these stands come with a narrower one) so you will also need to buy a screw adapter
no need to look for one with the yeti on it (they'll just charge you more) just find the screw adapter of the same size
then on OBS you pretty much HAVE TO use their shitty noise gate + noise supression + compressor
Blue yeti also has some pre production software you can utilize which will help a lot. Its through the logitech software and lots of people have presets for whatever you want. I personally use one called DruiDland.
thanks guys ill look into getting a new stad for the mic and a pop filter for it. the software im currently using is capcut and that makes you buy a pro plan in order to use noise reduction. i plan on switching just havent foud anything as easy and convienent as it. tried filmora but i wasnt messign with it
if you've got an nvidia rtx card you can pass it through Nvidia Studio for noise reduction
