#Potentially complicated algorithm question - Audience activity/view times/scheduled vid view delays

Hi Hello,

So I'm trying to really figure out how the algorithm works for me and I'm a little bit stuck.
I've been uploading hourly shorts on a schedule (24 shorts a day while not publishing to sub feed) for roughly a month now.

This has been working out relatively well, but the thing I've noticed, is that only the shorts that are scheduled at the start of the day seem to be getting any views, (from 2 AM - 11 AM) while the rest of the hourly uploads get essentially no views.

However, YouTube's analytics tells me that my audience is active (around 2PM - 11 PM), which is the exact opposite of the videos that end up getting views.

So I guess my main question is, should I focus on primarily uploading shorts based on when they've been getting views? When my audience is supposed to be active? Or just stick with the hourly uploads

Thanks.

You should most definitely post when your viewers are active, risk of posting it any other time is that you take away the spotlight it could've had. Your viewers aren't active after 11am which means less views.

Yeah, the part about it that doesn't make sense to me is that the videos i've been posting when my viewers are most active are the ones that end up not getting views

#

While the ones that I post in the middle of the night are the ones that end up getting views when my audience isn't active

#

Like they're on some kind of delay, essentially

You could try and experiment with it a little bit to see what turns out the best, give it some time.

Post short > gets views like 12-ish hours later

#

Yeah fair enough

Figured maybe someone would know the nitty gritty of it, but I'll figure it out, thanks 🙂

Because it seems like a slightly odd scenario, yknow?

Haha yeah, I understand it seems weird. It is a matter of experimenting, maybe posting during the times your viewers are active will turn out good eventually or vice versa. This is my thoughts though, maybe there is some concrete answer to this problem. 😄
