Im working on my first video, and Im making a review of a game. Does anyone have good tips? I feel like I've reached a sort of writers block, I've made my intro and topics I just cant seem to get to the actual meat of the video, maybe Im thinking about it too much? I have spent all day working on the intro and learning how to edit and get music. Should I just take a break and try later after I get some sleep? I want to make and have a template for scripts and videos.

Take a break, come back later, try to touch on other parts of the video. You also don't need to be too scared that it doesn't come out good at first, I tend to also need 2-3 different iterations for my script to not be garbage, and generally more or less follow this process when writing my script:

  1. Mainly write what I want to talk about as directly as I can. It gets the point across, but it's generally a very boring script.
  2. Focus on adding personality in there. Forcing as many jokes as I can, thinking of as many ways I can make each section interesting as I can. It's going to be extra, and I'm definitely going to cut some of them in the next phase.
  3. This one is mainly focusing on flow. If I see that some parts feel out of place, or if a joke drags on for too long, I either cut it, or change it to be more direct.

I also try to figure out what kind of music I want to use for each section between steps 1 and 2 since for me, listening to the music I want to use while writing it helps with making it come together better. It might not be the final song I'm going to go with, but it still helps a lot.
