#Need feedback on my first ever video on my new channel.

I just posted my first video on a new channel I made, and I wonder if the quality is any good.

The video is a minecraft video, focussed on a more relaxed/laybacked approach similar to creators such as Flowstate.

I havent gotten any views after the first 12 hours, which I know is normal, but I am just wondering if this is caused by the video itself or just the algorithm.

I appreciate any form of feedback!

@opaque tide Have you watched it yet? Really interested in any kind of feedback!

#

Sorry for the @ btw

I think intro could be cut down, specifically just having (typeing name for new world) then cut straight to where you start. Other than that I think video is fine, but it will probably take a significant amount of time to gather a audience.

@cold saddle
Yeah,
I was trying some stuff out with the intro, but now that you mention it it does seem quite long indeed.
I am almost done with my second video but I'm not sure if the intro is still too long again.
If you don't mind could you watch my next video? It is currently unlisted so if you have any tips I could implement them

Wait its still privated? My bad lol, give me a sec

#

Should be fixed now

#

I think the intro of this one is also quite long

The intro kind of threw me off, as you're going for a laidback vibe and into didn't have that vibe until after slaughtering the raiders, also cutting the whole house building made you miss out on a time lapse slow build which is very popular with that type of vibe. Overall it's is a good video and if you enjoy making content like that continue doing it, just will take a decent amount of time to be discovered as lets play laidback vibe will be hard for the algorithm to place you

Thank you for your feedback! I also felt the same about the intro after watching it a few times, currently fixing that!
As for the build, I kind of forgot to talk during that part, but I think I still have the recordings from Replay Mod so I can use those

cold saddle
#

with the vibe you're going for you kind of can just have the music and sped up timelapse, wont change audience retention if they make it that far they should expect it

proper narwhal
#

Alright! Gonna work on that! Thanks again! Really appreciate it 😄

#

@cold saddle part of the footage got corrupted apperantly, but I am able to show about 75% of the build. I think that is fine though, just gonna need to re-edit a bit

Lets focus on a few big red mark areas.

⋆.˚⋆𓂃⋆.˚ SOUND ˚.⋆𓂃⋆.˚

❌----- Sound levels (Do your ears bleed? Is it too quiet? Perhaps both?)

  • Simply work on adjusting your audio a tiny bit before your upload. Your audio is too loud for YouTube to register, so it automatically lower your audio for you at the cost of your audio quaility
  • To do that, either normalize or compress your audio! Your loudness normalization (which most softwares let you set after yourve finsihed editing!) should hit around -14 lufs or else YT will change your audio for you

⋆.˚⋆𓂃⋆.˚ TIMING ˚.⋆𓂃⋆.˚

❌----- Pacing (Is the pacing of the video comfortable and engaging?)

❌----- Audience Retention (Does the video keep the viewer's attention throughout?)

❌----- The Intro (Is there a quick intro that preps the audience that doesn't go longer than 30 sec?)

❌----- The Clingy Minute (Does the next minute keep the viewer clinging to the video?)

❌----- Relevance to the topic (Does the video contribute to the topic or is relevant in its category, i.e., gaming?)

❌----- Flow (Does the video transition smoothly from one segment to another?)

  • The big issue here is you have a very chill vibe (which I love!!) and this chill vibe comes with a lot of supported breath energy and a mild "punchy" vocal cadence (perfect!!), but then you pair all that beautiful vocal work with slow, drawn out edits, discussing matters that don't pertain to your game. Rambling on and on about small matters, with even slower to black faded transitions. It becomes lulling, and not in a good way. It's like... droning.
  • To fix this maybe either adjust your game play to be a tad more faster paced, your edits to be faster or more "jump-cutty", and cut down your conversation to be things of "interest" to the viewer.
  • You can do story times! I love a good story time! Northerlion is a perfect example of a YTber with a punchy calm voice who plays games while sharing stories. But his stories are SUPER interesting, his game play always really interesting, and he cuts out long drags or boring bits. His voice is what keeps the calm vibe, NOT the gameplay itself. The gameplay on its own is very interesting, but his music, game genres, and voice are calming!
  • I would avoid long intros that dont explain the point of the video right away. Thats what people ar elooking for. After the quick intro, you can go on and on about anything else the viewer finds interesting!
  • On that not, try to make quicker outros. Once the viewer knows the video is ending, they go

⋆.˚⋆𓂃⋆.˚ THUMBNAIL ˚.⋆𓂃⋆.˚

❌----- Click-Through Rate (CTR) (Is this a very "clickable" thumbail/video in general?)

❌----- Color (Are the colors in the thumbnail eye-catching/complementary without being overwhelming?)

  • Ah thumbnails, the hardest part of creating and maybe the most important!
  • The big issue here is your thumbnail isnt exactly screaming your video topic. It looks like a pretty view, and you can barely tell it minecraft on a smaller screen. But where in this thumbnail does it "express" to me that we're playing minecraft in a modded version that you combined to make minecraft "more like an adventure?"
  • And a tad on that but off topic, your thumbnail doesnt stick out much. The colors are duller than the average YT minecraft video, so it would stand out in that sense, but not in a particularly curosity spiking way. The video thumbnail doesnt scream "you want to click this to find something out!"

I think you did a lot of amazing things in this video! I really liked how you had a calm voice but still had a good sense of empasis in your cadence! Thats really really hard to do!
