I have a very low CTR (1%), so my first guess that my packaging is the problem seeing as I don't have many subs.
I've used 3 titles so far, none of them to any success: "The Oil Pit Squids of Indiana", "The Creature They Found in the Chemical Waste Will Haunt You" and "GM Doesnt Want You to Know About The Oil Pit Squids of Indiana

I could use some advice and criticism

#

For context, my channel is a storytelling channel that talks about cryptids and hauntings, etc. Sort of like Bedtime Stories

So biggest thing is the text at a glance blends into background.

#

Oil is close to the color of background. You lose I and T in the tentacle

As far as low ctr 9/10 its almost always a title+ thumbnail issue. However there's time ctr will be low due to youtube pushing the video to wider audiences. (For example i had .2% ctr due to a video pushing and its stabilized around 6.5%)

Also as a newtuber and low amount of subs views can take a bit to take off. As long as the content is engaging and isn't ai slop you'll probably grow viewers overtime.

Thank you for the suggestions! I quickly made 2 more variations. Do you think either one is better? Also what do you think about the color of the font

I think its a massive improvement. As far as which one personally 2nd one looks nicer to me.

Also as far as font white works because it's drastically different than the background and its legible at a glance which is needed.

"The Oil Pit Squids of Indiana" "The Creature They Found in the Chemical Waste Will Haunt You" "GM Doesnt Want You to Know About The Oil Pit Squids of Indiana

#

The titles you provided are really long, but they are also pretty straightforward.

#

Maybe work on creating some intrigue or interest?

Instead of, "GM Doesn't Want You to Know About The Oil Pit Squids of Indiana", what about something punchier and more mysterious like: "GM can't hide their creatures any longer." "Oil pit squids aren't the only creatures GM is covering up" "Cryptic cryptids of Indiana"
