My channel with 3 past thumbnails I have done https://www.youtube.com/@KodaFrogg/videos

I am currently debating on what direction I should go for a new video. For context I make videos on 100% completing games, throughout each video I go through the game from achievement to achievement.
I recently had a thumbnail commissioned for my upcoming video on The Walking Dead Destinies. I like the direction/style this could push my video into.
However, I am unsure if I should go this route or stick to the style of thumbnails I have been doing.

for some extra context: I view my YouTube journey as a way to gain skills in video editing + my love for playing video games 100%.
If this is a good direction to go down thumbnail wise, I am capable/willing to commission further thumbnails every 2-4 weeks for a new video as thumbnails are an aspect I do not enjoy doing.

Included are the cartoon commissioned thumbnail and one I made up:

Title of the video for cartoon one I am not sure at the moment. For the thumbnail I created it would be something like "The Walking Dead Destinies Ruined Me" or something similar

You're thinking too hard about this. You can always change your thumbnails at any time. Keeping a consistent style isn't as important when you have no audience built yet, it's about expirementing to see what works and changing things to see what improves.

For what it's worth I think the one on the left looks significantly better

Yea, I think so too on the thinking hard/ overthinking. I know over time I could become better at thumbnails, but I definitely would prefer to keep my focus on creating content/ editing. In some aspects I do like creating them, but when they do not have that great of a ctr it is tough. Thanks for the feedback
