#wondering if this style works

So, I'm wanting to get a lot more serious about uploading content. So far, I've been trying to find moments in my longer live streams that stand out and post that. Some get a decent amount of views, while others don't. So I'm wondering if it's because there isn't anything in the video they find to pull them into the other shorts or into the long form video it came from, that I've uploaded only a few days to a week later.

The style is; let's play
I totally understand not having a thumbnail may hinder me, and that's part of taking it more serious. I'm looking to know if the content itself is the right direction, or is it too generic of a let's play?

I think through the video you should zoom in and out of your face depending on what points you want to make, like rn the vtuber is just at a zoom out and its kinda diverts the viewer away because they dont know what theyre looking at

Thank you @vale glacier - this is a really cool idea and I know how I'd pull it off

So this is a short... So i'll be quick here:

I could review the short itself but Im not going to since this isn't the question you asked

#

" I'm wondering if it's because there isn't anything in the video they find to pull them into the other shorts or into the long form video it came from"

Yeah. Long form viewers and short form viewers tend to be different, or rather are looking for different things at that moment

#

If I put on a documentry I want something different than if I put on a top 10 facts list

#

For shorts it's more "quick, punchy intersting videos!"

And long form has a bit more variety, but people usually want more subtabnce and depth

#

So a viewer who finds one of your shorts and in this hyptothetical loved it is very likely to go "wow thats awesome" and then move on

#

They might see another short, they might be suggested more of your shorts

#

But unless they decide to subscribe and watch all your videos (very very very rare) they're most likely to never be suggested your long form videos, only shorts, and the next few shorts they watch have to be good enough to warrent another view

#

Shorts are amazing at selling KEY moments or ESSENTIAL aspects of your commentary that are entertaining for this reason.

Thumbnails arent nessecary unless youre a shorts reator

@crimson wing thank you so much for the detailed feedback!

Yeah, I was under the impression that doing shorts is a good way to show off aspects of your channel. I took that to the next level, thinking they it's a good way to pull in more dedicated viewers. Maybe that works sometimes, but it sounds like from what you're saying: most often not.

It sounds like if they get recommended another short, the first they watched would need something that makes them click on the recommend, instead of swiping, and to start converting the viewer into a fan and or sub.

Again, thank you.
