#Help with video/series title.

I've been working on a complete rebalance of competitive Pokemon (type chart, mechanics, moves, pokemon, etc...), and because I've been enjoying it so much I want to start making videos sharing my ideas. But a problem I've been running into is coming up with a name for such a series/the rebalance itself. Ideally its short, gets the idea across, and is catchy, but I struggle with coming up with names and this concept seems hard to come up with a name for. Tried asking a bunch of people I know, best I got was "Pokemon WoofRemastered", which meets none of those ideals and was just kind of funny.

This is basically a long winded way of asking what name ideas come to your mind for such a series? Also sorry if this is the wrong tag, I didn't really see any tag relating to title feedback.

So I’m prefacing this with — I’m not deep in the Pokémon world, I’ve played it a few times on game boy and the switch but never got this deep in analysis— but some name ideas for a series/playlist could be “Pokémon Rebalanced // insert name(s) of Pokémon you’re discussing here” and then in the description explain the concept more in-depth.

Keep it simple and straight forward😊

that sounds nice, the issue is there are 1008 pokemon to go through. I'd have to cover several pokemon per video to not spend like a decade on these videos, so the simplest way to adopt that format is something like "Pokemon Rebalanced // Venusaur-Sandslash" or "Pokemon Rebalanced // Venusaur to Sandslash", as an example. Feels a bit less streamlined at that point, but I could just be nitpicky.

Another issue is although this is a Pokemon Rebalance, Pokemon Rebalance is super generic. if you search pokemon rebalance on youtube, you get a lot of series or videos that are like "rebalancing the kanto dex" or "rebooting the type chart" or "fixing the type chart"

Have these videos been done before? They are people you could look to for inspiration on your title

#

Because you have a problem, are you trying to appeal to only people that are really into pokemon? Or people that are just familiar with pokemon? That can help decide what to title it

#

For example, I'm familiar with Pokemon, and I would title it something like "I finally made Rayquaza Fair" or "I Nerfed Groudon", that way it appeals to the more casual viewer. If you did it with the more niche crowd, you could do a lot more detail like "How I Finally Nerfed Gen X Pokemon"

I'm appealing to those who are really into pokemon. Not sure how much such a title works as a title for the whole series though. "How I Finally Nerfed Gen X Pokemon" for instance only really works as a video title, applying it to a series that I intend to last a while and cover a wide range of competitive pokemon topics doesn't really work.

These types of videos have been done before, but they're almost always either one offs with very little detail meaning they don't need a title that fits a wider project, or smaller scale video series that use some combination of the words "pokemon rebalance/synonyms" as the focal point of the title

But

#

If you used it as a vector for learning and experience for how YouTube works, it could be really good for you in the long run.

For video titles and series titles;

# deep crow Honestly not sure how well a video series like this would do on YouTube but I do...

youtube is actually more of a side hobby, my passion is game design and I like doing videos like that as a well to force myself into thinking about design aspects I haven't thought about. I'm fine with it not doing too well as long as I'm proud of the finished product and gets at least a small community. I think I can also easily branch it out into other design topics later on which is a plus

You want some important keywords, like "Pokemon" or the specific group of monsters your rebalancing
Avoid numerically listing them like in a let's play or multi part series, absolutely kills the video in the "algorithm" because people instinctifly don't want to watch the 345th Part of a video series they haven't even started yet

yeah

You may want to keep the series name out of the title, you could instead have titles like

"Improving 10 of the Most BROKEN Gen X Pokémon"

delicate orbit
#

yeah I don't want series name in the video titles. while the series name is a bit more general, the videos will often be more specific since they'll be more individually focused on aspects of the rebalance

obviously every title is technically clickbait, but since I'm changing so much its hard to say what's really broken or "improved", so I'd rather avoid titles like "I fixed this insanely BROKEN strat". I think those types of titles can work well for more specific problems I'm trying to address, but general changes to different Pokemon I feel this is a bit off for, so I'd have to rely more on thumbnail work I'd imagine to bring people in.

Another issue is in terms of both making the videos enjoyable to watch and not agonizing to make, I don't think I could cover entire generations in a single video, so the "Gen X" option for a title is a bit tricky.

Maybe something like "Reworking 20 of the WORST/BEST Gen X Pokemon" for such videos.

For each gen, I could do 3 videos. The best mons of the generation, the worst mons of the generation, and a video covering the rest. But not sure how to title that last bit, and a overall series/playlist name is still an issue for me

#

I wouldn't go with "reworking" in the title imo, personally

#

in general it's necessary to do a little clickbait

delicate orbit
#

its necessary to do a little bit of clickbait, its just I'd rather clickbait with words like WORST or BEST than "BROKEN" or "GARBAGE".

Improving and Fixing I think both work depending on context

#

I think I'm fine at this point for video titles, but I still am at a loss for a series title.

It's way less important than video titles, you see the series title way less often. But I still want something but its hard to come up with something that describes something as expansive as a complete rebalance of pokemon

@deep crow anymore thoughts?

For a series title I don't know enough about pokemon to give any decent suggestions
