#Concussion Grenade

I haven't made a post here before so here goes nothing...

The concussion grenade is a staple of Scout’s kit in both TFC and PF2, and one of the most fun items to use in those games. While it may seem like a spam tool to throw into chokes at first, its real potential comes from “conc jumping” where cooking the grenade and jumping at the last second launches you through the air. The tradeoff is temporary concussion, forcing you to adapt to a distorted crosshair and view. Scout is already the strongest mobility class, but it could be interesting to be able to swap his damage-focused secondaries for one that emphasizes movement and primary weapon skill instead.

Extra notes:
Stats comparative to the brick
Explosion doesnt do any damage
Concussion effect disorients by moving around the player pov and crosshair
Explodes after 5 seconds

I feel like this is the kind of item that i couldnt give a fair review w/o an actual playtest, since its very dependant on how annoying the concussive effect on enemies would be

#

but I 100% agree that a utility secondary for the 3rd slot would be very nice

#

my only real concern is that scout is already mobile and people just fundamentally do not like hit stun or kb in this game, so its doubling up on a strength at the cost of introducing an unliked mechanic

#

but again, would need to see a playtest first, ill give it a thumbs up tho im always down for movement tech and utility items

#

oh id also maybe suggest zero damage, not that it would deal much to begin with, it just makes sense for it to be no damage imo

I timestamped what it would look like

#

Not so much as a "stun" effect as it is a disorientate effect

if i recall the alternate version that can be toggled for disorient instead of moving your camera moves your crosshair, which i think means your shoots go to where your cursor is instead directly forward

I don't think this would fit in TF2C

#

I also think that giving Scout a mobility tool that powerful is overkill to an absurd degree lol

#

I've seen the shit people pull off with it

as much as i think it'd be cool, it would be stupid powerful

"random"

That was random

One day ppl will be able to make use of context clues

#

I was referring to the use of the word "random" in the stats of the original post
And by quoting that one simple word as a form of feedback to this item, the implication is that I have a problem with anything being "random"

#

Especially when it refers to throwing enemies around, in the FPS known as TF2C which heavily relies on its mechanics being predictable, reliable, and not up to chance

#

Though then again if you get thrown around randomly by a bomb that detonates after 5 whole seconds maybe that's a skill issue idk scratch that you can cook it

i think from all the granades the emp and the smoke granade are the ones that should actually be included in the game, im kinda exceptical with the concussion granade since it could be a very interesting gimmic for scout, althoough the distance it drives you is kinda exagerated if im honest

#

it could def be toned down from its pf2 counterpart

#

pf2 has it insanely high due to it being scouts only mode of transportation (besides running)

grenade jumping is EVERY classes' transportation, even sniper
