and i think melees that just give you stat buffs instead of having actual combat stats are one of the lamest weapons in live already so i dont think they should be brought into here
i mean the harvester and shock therapy are already weapons that exist that mostly have non combat stats
they have things attached to them that give them combat advantages but the main use is there passive abilities
they still incentivize you to pull them out and actually use them instead of just giving you stat buffs for free
the shock therapy makes you melee your teammates
i can see what you mean with the harvester but even then its got the crit mechanic
and it still has a bit of a combat use since to get the passive benefit you must have fought someone to set them on fire
true, i personally dont like this because give scout basically free extra horizontal mobility sounds kinda shit
like giving him an extra jump or something is whatever but allowing him to go as fast as he wants sounds a bit ridiculous
its not like the scout has todo anything to get the extra speed he just gets it by holding space
something like this would require a actual combat requirement to be used and also a more significant downside to his mobility other then making him a little slower
you'd probably have to completely rework how bhopping works if you wanted to add this because its really hard to kill someone who is jumping all over the place at the game's speedcap
itd be just like the old bfb where its impossible to outrun or chase down the scout which is already a hard thing to do
maybe if it was only when active and it had a slower switch speed so you had to commit to using it. maybe no double jump at all would be a better negative
also yeah it'd probably have to be a reprogrammed version of b-hopping with intentional downsides and not actual b-hopping since actual b-hoping is pretty busted
