Aight, I watched your set against SaintDolphin and a game against B_Blazin.
Here's what you got going for you,
- You're very patient
- You don't have a habit of delay teching everything, which is good.
- You can hit confirm.
- Your antiairs are okay, about 50%
- You know your DP punish combo.
Here's what I think is really missing
- You spend a lot of time doing absolutely nothing, you're crouch blocking in range where the opponent is just pummeling your block. You don't challenge often even when it's your turn.
- On defense, I'm not sure what you're looking for but when you are committing to blocking often you're blocking things like sweep. Sometimes you punish it sometimes you dont.
- You're not pressing buttons to challenge anything.
- You're not moving enough, allowing the opponent to determine spacing.
Basically, the way you're playing is quite good for unga players who are throwing unsafe things all the time. But it's weak against players who just want to play footsies. How you're playing is, in summary, putting yourself in a defensive position where you are guessing on defense and the risk-reward is very skewed against your opponent. You're not very focused on trying to open the opponent up, but waiting for a mistake you can exploit. Unfortunately, in SF6 defending is a RPS where if you guess wrong you take a lot of damage.
This type of playstyle is okay, but is definitely more suited on a character like Guile, where you are chipping away at someones life being as safe as possible.
