[REPLAY] [RYU] What is wrong in my neutral game ?

Hi there,
I had a look at your replays, i'm in teh same rank as you (plat3 ryu) so take this with care, but i saw the following things

  • you did too much stuff to avoid playing neutral, you were constantly dashing, jumping, drive rushing and it seemed you wanted to "cheese" the win, because in the 2nd game almost all your wakeups where EX dp's
  • you can't throw fireballs till you have setup a solid ground game and consistent anti-airs, e.g. play slow > anti-air when they jump > start throwing fireballs when they jump less. Fireballs are a complement to neutral buttons
  • the best i can recommend is to play slow the first round, see what the other player can do and adapt depending on that, if the other player wants to dash-rush, it can be good to throw more fireballs or neutral jabs, if they like to jump, look for anti-airs and be more patient
