Save your leaps until there’s a collapsing bridge, it’s a lot more affective then just using it random, also try to juke, trick them into thinking your going but pull back as fast as you can so they waste the trap
Also, at the start, back up and when the timer hits 1 run so by the time the door collapses to let you through you don’t waste time trying to sprint

It’s mostly personal preference I think. If you really want to see far from left to right, then no one will blame you. However when you get speed you won’t really be able to tell, like having gameplay affects FOV off. Some people think it’s unnatural to have a FOV higher than 90, it’s considered ‘normal’ as it’s the limit without having the fish-eye effect (idk how else to explain that lol). Also if you use lower it could potentially be a disadvantage as you can’t see as much (obviously) and if it’s below 45 then I would recommend you to change. No one can disrespect you tho as it’s just an opinion and we are all different.

Here’s a fun idea, different powerups instead of leap, maybe one could be a speed boost, another could be like you set a trap behind you

The leaps are probably just momentum that you would normally get when being blown back by TNT
I wish that was something we had at our disposal for command blocks but as far as I know it isnt :c
It's extremely hard to replicate them well even if you spawn TNT behind the player whenever they click a feather, because the blast momentum is sensitive.

Oh ok so it’s /testfor @e[type=item,name=whatever you want the feather to be named] that’s a repeating always active going into a chain command block which would contain the leap command
