It really depends if the player knows how to be a reaper effectively and use timing, patience and algorithm to his/her advantage.

It took me two rounds of being selected as Death to figure out the mechanics and traps.

And often I would see a lot of “panicked”, “slow” or just simply bad reapers. @obtuse oracle

But it’s the “panicked” reapers that you got to watch out for, as I couldn’t even get close to a WR on one of the maps without a targeting reaper desperate to kill me and ignoring the rest of the crowd.

For a future DR map we've been adding a few nice things for the speedrunners

Whilst the map is traditionally easier to finish compared to Java - we've added harder paths with 4 block jumps, possible strafe cutting for those trying to squeeze out the best possible time

They don't work.

Twice in school I died and got sent back 2 checkpoints.

I was practicing world record strats on school.

And a trap got activated on me after I leaped through the final checkpoint.

As in the one before the finish line.

And got sent back to the second last.

I've also found out a lot of the world record runs are down to luck.

As in they got lucky that a trap did not get activated on them.

When they had no leap.

Well, yeah, in DR the WR depend on the deaths not attacking the speedrunner

Like in school, the guy gets lucky that the death didn't activate tnt or make red blocks disappear at some points.

That's so dumb. I wish there was a time trial mode.

also it's easy to say "that should be fixed" but it's not as easy. If you're traveling at high speed, especially with even slight lag, the server may never actually see you inside of the portal

We do have it on our list to make players invisible/transparent - it's just not as simple as copying the code from Java 👌

and we are also aware of portals sometimes not registering you, which is a very tricky thing to work out - if we knew the fix we'd of course patch it - everything just takes time are we are working at 100% right now (as well as keeping Java up to date with future updates)
