Beta support is now enabled for the North America region. Europe will receive this update around midnight (European time). Don't see us on your list? Restarting the client should help!
When playing on a beta, you may encounter both client and server bugs. Whilst we will happily assist you and try and fix those, we recommend the stable client for the best experience.
As Bedrock automatically updates, we won't support old versions forever. Once a version is basically unused, we will drop support for that. This allows us to keep up with the newest feature in a decent amount of time.

With Minecraft 1.9 releasing soon, we are rolling out our support for this version. This will be happening region by region. You may be redirected to a different region whilst we carry out this maintenance. There will be no global downtime.
A very small amount of players is still on 1.7. Because of this, we will be dropping support for 1.7 within the next few days. This allows us to incorporate 1.8 features into our server.
When possible, we will support beta versions. In the case of 1.9, we ran into a few substantial bugs that prevented us from supporting this version. If we can support the 1.10 beta, we will :).

We will be dropping 1.7 support when 1.9 officially releases.
1.10 support is only for the first beta of 1.10. Support for future betas is not guaranteed and will be decided on a per-beta basis.

As 1.9 released today, we have removed support for version 1.7. This is likely a pattern we will continue going forward (dropping 1.8 support when 1.10 releases, et cetera).
This is only a configurational chance: we aren't yet using any features that require 1.8. This does allow us to start using these

As some of you noticed, you can now buy a Murder Mystery Booster from the store!
Upon activating the booster, you get a one hour 50% XP boost. This boost stacks with any other boosts, such as Hive+ and any global ones.
After purchasing the booster, you must activate it from the /booster menu. Upon joining Murder Mystery with a booster active, you will receive a chat message explaining your current boost (currently 50% with the booster, or 100% for Hive+ users). Once your booster runs out, you will no longer receive this message.
XP on Hive Bedrock only gives cosmetic benefits. All level unlocks are available to all users, including users that haven't purchased anything. Unlocks offer no competitive advantage.

Minecraft 1.10 is currently in certification and will be released soon. On the release date of 1.10, we will disable support for version 1.8. This pattern will continue in the future, disabling 1.9 support when 1.11 releases and so forth.
As the (beta) development for 1.11 is becoming more stable with no big changes expected, we will start supporting the (most recent) 1.11 beta in the near future. There is no set time for this as it depends on the complexity of the changes.
To sum it up:
- 1.8, 1.9, 1.10 currently supported
- 1.8 support will be removed soon
- 1.11 support will be added soon

We recently changed how we send chat to your Minecraft client. Player to player chat messages are now classed differently as "system" messages, allowing your client to filter out messages based on your settings and block/mute list.
This might have caused you to only see chat from Xbox Live friends, or no chat at all. Luckily, this is something you can simply fix yourself:
- visit https://account.xbox.com/en-US/Settings?wa=wsignin1.0&activetab=main:privacytab
- make sure the setting "Others can communicate with voice, text or invites" is set to "Everyone"
If you can't change this setting yourself, it might be because your account is managed by a parent, guardian or parrot. They should be able to change this setting for your account, if they agree to do so.

We have added:
- Experimental 1.11 support. This is mainly to accommodate those players affected by the recent Xbox update bug. We still recommend playing on a stable (1.9 or 1.10) version for the best experience, but do plan to stay compatible with this and upcoming 1.11 betas.
- Murder Mystery In-Game personal leaderboard rankings. This is currently displayed at the bottom of your stats hologram. This feature may be disabled at any time if it needs more work.
Please note the in game rankings are from the MONTHLY leaderboard (that's currently March, in case you lost your calendar). All-time rankings will be coming but won't be prominently displayed.
Update: In game ranking is currently not being displayed due to a performance issue. This will be re-enabled in the near future.

I'm looking to improve how I respond to Helper applications in the new year. I want to send out more replies with feedback on how to improve, and find a better place to send those responses.
Currently I reply to applicants that are successful through an email, but I know some of you don't like checking email very often. If you have an opinion, please reply to the survey below with where you would prefer to receive a response to an application if you were to get one!
NOTE: Discord PM is marked as "least likely" due to how difficult it is to stay on top of them - having to add friends and reply to instant messaging takes a lot more time than the other two options for me. That said, I mainly want to see the interest level in that option.

You can now unlink your Bedrock and Discord account.
Simply message @agile willow with the word: unlink
Copy and paste the verification message (send it back to the bot)
This will unlink ALL Hive accounts from your Discord - both Java and Bedrock. You can then relink any other account, or link your Bedrock account to a new Discord account, et cetera.

We're making some changes to our rules regarding self promotion. If you're a content creator who creates content on The Hive, we have always allowed and encouraged you to share your videos and livestreams on our Discord server, as long as they are age-appropriate and Hive-related. This is not changing, we love to see your awesome content!
To make it easier for you to share your content, we have created a new channel just for this. From now on, if you want to post links to your videos or livestreams, please do so in our new #๐ฅใปself-promotion channel. Links to videos and livestreams that are posted elsewhere on the server will now be deleted by our staff.
We've also made some changes to how frequently you can post your content. From now on, we ask that you only post links to your content once a day (every 24 hours).

It's not uncommon that we get users pretending to be Helpers or Moderators, usually by copying their names and images on Discord. However, there have been some cases recently of these impersonators asking for information from users.
Helpers and Mods will never ask you for personal information or ask for access to your device, files and accounts. This includes asking for passwords or screen-shares! You should never be giving this information to anyone whatsoever.
If you're unsure about a message from a staff member, open their profile from the Discord member list and click 'message'. Helpers and Mods will be at the top of the member list and will have a staff role. If messaging them takes you to the DM you received, that means this user did contact you. If it opens a new DM, they are not the same user that reached out to you.
Always avoid clicking on links from people you don't know or giving away personal information. Please be safe and remember that we will never ask you to compromise your security in any way.

We have recently been seeing an increasing number of community members having their Discord accounts compromised because they have clicked on a malicious link.
If you see a message (whether this be in a direct message, or on a Discord server) that claims to be giving away free Discord Nitro, or Steam items, please do not click on any links, or enter your Discord login details.
Even if the message is from a well-known community member or friend, please just report the message to a member of our staff team.
