Hive Discord Rules

Our rules are based on common sense and fairness, they are there to keep things safe and fun. This list documents the most common rules.
Breaking the rules may lead to your account being given a warning, or in some cases, being muted or banned from our Discord community.

😊 1. Be kind and civil.
Treat all members, including staff and developers, with respect. This means no abusive language or bullying, and absolutely no racist, homophobic, transphobic, or otherwise discriminatory comments or content.

🔤 2. Please only speak English.
We kindly ask that you speak only in English on our Discord server, enabling us to moderate the chat and maintain a safe and enjoyable environment.

⚠️ 3. No explicit or inappropriate language.
Avoid using any explicit or inappropriate language, including the names of custom emotes. Attempts to circumvent our chat filters are prohibited and will be punished in the same manner as using the blocked word directly.

🌊 4. Avoid spamming or flooding chat.
Avoid sending excessive messages, excessively long messages, emote trains, ASCII art/copypastas, as well as excessive formatting, caps, emotes, and @mentions. Don't repeatedly ask for gifts or free items.

📢 5. No self-promotion and advertising.
Avoid sending unsolicited references and links to other social media platforms, Minecraft servers, Discord servers, communities, and services in public chats, direct messages, or Discord statuses. There is an exception for Hive-related, age-appropriate content, such as videos and livestreams, in the #🎥・self-promotion channel.

🔕 6. Do not unnecessarily @mention staff or partners.
Do not @mention members (including staff and partners) unnecessarily. You should only ping staff in an emergency. If you need (non-urgent) help, you can contact our support team: find out how in the #📩・help-me channel.

7. Use an appropriate Discord profile.
Your Discord username and profile (avatar, status, bio, pronouns, etc.) must be appropriate and should not contain political imagery or figures. Do not use a guild tag that players may confuse with a staff rank.

🛟 8. Stay safe.
Never share personal information about yourself or others. This includes posting information about your age or real-world location. Don't discuss any illegal activities, including (but not limited to) piracy, hacking, illegal substances, or otherwise suspicious content. For information about staying safe online, check out this article.

🏛️ 9. Keep chat on topic.
Avoid political, religious, or otherwise divisive topics. In topic and game-specific channels, chat should remain on-topic.

👤 10. One account per player.
Please only use one Discord account to access our Discord server. Using alt accounts to evade punishment will result in an immediate ban, and the original punishment will be extended.

📜 11. Follow Discord's Community Guidelines and TOS.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Discord and abide by all other terms and guidelines. Any claims that you are below the age of 13 will be taken seriously and result in a permanent ban.
