Ok, so...

Because of the anxiety attacks Rock kept having after fighting Robot masters in each "game" (MM1-MM11) he would take off his armor and weapons in the end, basically anything he uses to fight...

So he doesn't have any of the special weapons or abilities

HOWEVER

He also loses his "limitors"

What are limitors? Basically it is theorized that Rock never used his "full potential" due to the limits put in him by the laws of robotics. As well as his sense of justice and morals

But the moment Wily put SO much pressure, stress, agony and trauma in Rock, his personality IC chip (the thing keeping his limits in-check) went "CRACK"

With that.. he doesn't limit himself anymore. So he uses his full power regardless of humans or weaker robots being around

He's not overpowered, but he also doesn't hold back altogether

(not to mention he does have that double gear system, or the Faded Light counterpart of it, within him)

The reason his energy becomes "purple" is because his good side and bad side become fully jointed after he snaps (red eye-blue eye) and well... what color do u get from red n blue? Purpleeee

Also, the color purple is constantly used to signify "evil" or "bad" in the franchise (as well as in Fnaf fully enough), to it also works to signify his change in personality

Instead of a purple scarf (copyrobot) his mega buster energy outright becomes purple (instead of it being an object you can remove, it is fully integrated in him)

He reprograms and CHANGES his directives not to have a complete collapse, his sense of justice gets twisted and bent as a result

All of this possible due to the damage and pain his IC chip gets after cracking, unlocking his system's limits

And with no one around to try stop it

It seems like it can be interpreted in different ways but basically, his original stage is a scrap yard, which lead to an animation emphasizing that robots meet their end there, that led to a song which as far as I can tell is basically Dustman telling megaman that every robot master killed is another robot sent into the inferno

I see fans portray Rock being unsettled by Dust Man's place and motives in here (makes sense)

Faded L Rock, on the other hand, wouldn't even flitch at the sight of robot corpses or them being turned into scrap. He would be angry at this/at Dust Man if he tried to tease Rock, but not afraid whatsoever. After all "We both want to get rid of scrap metal"

That being said Faded Rock not only wants to kill Dust Man, he wants revenge for mistreating robot corpses/scraps before shoving them in the fire.

"But unlike YOU, I make sure they're well DEAD"

Rock also steals/drinks the energy left inside his robot master victims so it won't go to waste, something Dust properly does not, and that angers Rock further.

Not to me, I do think Astro Boy is stronger than Rock

Astro was already built to be Tenma's greatest creation, he's been incredibly capable and strong since day 1

Has weapons of his own everhwhere AND can fly

Mega Man however, without any special weapons nor Rush, just can't keep up

I don't think Faded MM would beat Astro either. He would have less mercy sure, but beat him down? I really don't think so...

As sad as that makes me

I might be biased towards Mega Man sometimes, but not that biased

Faded Rock would absolutely destroy the TF2 mercs because they're just humans, sure they are crazy and have funny weapons, but Rock is made to fight robots of his own strength and higher

I don't think a bunch of funny humans would stand against one merciless robot

MvM bots are silly and glitchy, also mass produced and way lower quality lol

Don't wanna go too off topic, but remember a version of Mega Man (Archie) does know how to Chaos Control. I can imagine if he did know, he'd be one of the few characters who could counter Shadow in mid-Chaos Control and block his attack! (Which would be cool to see for once!)

well at the end of MM11 Light says that the Double Gear system could be used properly if it was used by people who are responsible with it and one of those people being Rock

Light also gave it to Auto

so I think it would make sense that Light would indeed allow Rock to use it

as for the reason Rock would want it? He can use it for things other than fighting too which it was originally made for

the Double Gear system was made to make the robots jobs easier

In Faded Light, Rock has been growing worried and concerned with each fight he takes on, nervous that he won't be held back at some point if he keeps letting Wily go.

Light has noticed this too, even when Rock tried to hide those sinister feelings of his, so I could see him being more resistant on giving Rock the double gear

However, as a great father he is, him possibly letting Rock keep this system could be his way of showing he still has trust in his son and wants him to feel like a hero again

He'd never think bad of his son after all, no matter what

I don't know why, but I can easily imagine a more narrative-driven game, something like Zero Escape, Rain Code or AI The Somnium Files. Either we would be seeing things from a perspective outside Rock's, or from his perspective, which turns out to be that of an unreliable narrator 🤔

For a more action-oriented game, especially in a context of limited resources (and who knows, perhaps an environment that no longer has access to sunlight, Matrix-style), I imagine aggressive gameplay similar to Ray in Mighty No. 9/Mighty Gunvolt Burst or Darkness Mode in Gunvolt Chronicles: the character's HP continuously decreases, and they can only recover or maintain it by eliminating enemies, forcing the player to constantly attack and actively searching ennemis ^^
