You were my very first VR game, the one I booted up the same day I got my headset on December 25, 2020. Back then, I had no idea what VR would really feel like… but somehow, you made it feel like home almost instantly.
From my first time loading in, meeting random people, exploring rooms, laughing over the smallest things all the way to now it’s crazy how much time has passed. What started as “just trying VR” turned into something that kept me coming back, day after day. You didn’t just introduce me to a game… you introduced me to VR as a whole.
There were so many moments: funny, chaotic, random, and honestly unforgettable. The kind of moments you don’t really think about while they’re happening, but later realize they meant a lot more than you expected.
It’s weird looking back and realizing how much has changed since then. Not just in the game, but in life too. But through all of that, Rec Room was always there something familiar I could jump back into.
So yeah… this is a farewell, but also a thank you.
Thank you for the memories. Thank you for the laughs. And thank you for being the reason I stuck with VR in the first place.
I’ll always remember where it started.
