I remember RecRoom when I first joined; it was this amazing community-based game that it still is. Back then you’d unlock weekly items and play quests to revive once-in-a-lifetime items. It never felt like a huge money grab. Now all the clothes you buy are recoloured items from years ago. That feeling of going to your dorm after completing the golden trophy and opening that 5-star box with an item you’ve been trying to get for months has gone.

I would argue the appeal of quests has not gone anywhere. Honestly, it feels like one of the few things that's stayed constant

Time changes things, rec room wasn't invincible.
It's true the game does feel the same, but we're not the same person from years ago, so of course it feels different

Same, I only joined proper in summer of 2024 and while I have seen many clips and heard a lot about old rec room, the game now is still really fun (at least for me)
