Make sure you are scanning the QR Code with a Verified 2FA app. Here are some good 2FA apps: https://www.pcmag.com/picks/the-best-authenticator-apps?test_uuid=05n7gTzbSo0Sh5pVEDljnCi&test_variant=a Personally, I use Google Auth.

Any authenticator app should work. Google has an authenticator app for example that I use.

When you download the app you will be given the option to scan a QR code (plus icon in the bottom right). After you scan the QR code on rec.net the authenticator app will then give you a six digit set of numbers. You will have to then enter those numbers into the textbox on rec.net.
