Question for 2d artists: Is it a pain to change colors all the time on your markers/paintbrushes? Do you recolor the same pen all the time or do you just keep the 40 some odd colored pens lying around?

I'm not a 2D artists, but regardless of that, public art rooms require having a multitude of markers and paintbrushes for players to use (since they don't have Maker Pen access). This is super costly.
I also don't know of any artists that constantly recolor the same marker when drawing; that seems very inefficient to me. @fast plinth

Thanks for that feedback, Chase. I've been thinking it would be nice to have an actually palette that you could just point your marker at the color you want and it would instantly change to that color. Could improve work flow. Or if your marker could just change color by pressing the colors in the maker pen palette with the marker

There is probably an endlessly more efficient way to work, but I usually end up just going back and forth. This isn’t really an issue, because the artworks I’m used to doing don’t really require large amounts of different colours, but sometimes, being that I work on my artwork in public ^ValArtAcademy’s a lot, people often take that opportunity to grief the artwork. An instant changing colour palette would be mighty useful and I think well received within Rec Room’s artist community 👌

Ofc some undo, redo options would be awesome too for the pen, dunno if its possible. The color palette doesn't necessarily need to be anything to click on, maybe same way than you use emojies (but while pen equiped) it just opens like "menu" with recently used colors / color palette and just turn the hand that direction. Hard to explain.

Yeah, I found I kept on hitting the wrong thing because I tended to move my hand/arm in a certain way and that would pop-up unintentionally, then as the original movement continued, I'd hit the thing before I even really saw what I'd selected!
If anything, when it comes on screen a small time delay before it becomes active would have helped a helluva lot.

When I read your post earlier, I was wondering if it was possible to set up an art room where, using the invisible barrier and role chip, you could let the artist then draw his drawing, and press a "save" button which would transport the picture into a private room which the room owner could then use to display it in a sort of "Hall of Fame" ... There’s not “official” support for an undo feature on canvases; however, I’ve seen some people delete and undo delete the canvas. Hopefully someone here can verify that method.

Damn PSVR here.. but if I was to suggest something with tracking, keep your hands close to your body. Don’t have them stray very far, because you cameras could lose track of where they are, and you could end up with lines and streaks and crap where you don’t want them 😉
