Our latest update has shipped a ton of issues relating to crashes and performance that were reported to us last week. Thank you all for your patience. We are still actively tracking down any further memory leak issues, so we are not going to be calling these set of issues regarding performance/crashes resolved just yet until we see that complaints have minimized back to normal levels. If you keep running into these issues, please report them to us. As any known issues with this latest update, we are aware that Pico and PS5 users do not yet have the latest update, we are working on getting the update out for these platforms. One final note for VR users, we are aware that the angles when holding some of the cork guns in ^Showdown are not correct. We will have a patch sometime later this week to correct this. We're aware of an issue where walking away from any newly received reward box makes it so it does not respawn. Accounts with this issue still have the box in their box queue, but it just does not respawn so you're able to open it. We're investigating and will update back when we have more to share. The good news is that any item affected is still entitled to your account & once the issue is fixed, you will be able to obtain all of your backlogged items.

We have launched a hotfix patch for Steam, Oculus PC, Quest, and PC Standalone players. We're still working on getting this patch out on other platforms. This update includes fixes for gift boxes not reappearing if you walk away from them, gun angles have been corrected for some weapons in Showdown for VR players, and numerous fixes for memory leaks that would lead to crashes. Please update at your earliest convenience. This patch is compatible with the last update, meaning that if you update your game, you can still continue to play with your friends that have not yet updated. Not Rec Room specific, but we are noticing Steam is down. This means if you use Steam to play Rec Room, you may hit a "Unable to verify steam user" error.

Rec Room servers are otherwise running smoothly! Just wanted to note this here anyway.

We have some news on the insta-crash some users have been experiencing. We have identified the issue down to users using older CPUs. The fix for this issue will be in the next update. However, we have also prepared a beta branch if you'd like to test this update and see if it works for you today. This branch is the live version of the game with the fix applied. The next update will otherwise have the fix, by then we will delete this branch. That's when we will call this issue resolved. Thanks!

This is more of a heads up post, but Rec Room will be slowly moving to Unity 2021 in the coming days. Some platforms will receive the update tonight, while others will get it tomorrow. Some of the issues you can expect to see in the next 48~ hours is not being able to join some friends who haven't updated if they're playing on a specific platform, and RRS rooms may take longer to join in some cases while we work on moving them all to Unity 2021 on our end. We'll let you know when we are all clear, all platforms have updated, and the majority of RRS rooms have been moved over to Unity 2021. Thank you for your patience in advance!

As part of the Unity 2021 update, we have to create new versions of RRS rooms that are compatible with Unity 2021. Currently, the build times to convert RRS rooms from 2020 to 2021 is anywhere from 2 to 4 hours long. If you're seeing an error message when attempting to join a RRS room that "This room is not yet available for your device", this is why. We're working to get all rooms moved over and get our build times back to normal levels.

RRS build times have gone down to normal levels, so we are calling this issue resolved. Do keep in mind, you might still see a "This room is not yet available for your device" error if you're trying to join a RRS room that was created in Unity 2020 before the latest update and hasn't been visited yet, but it should only take 10~ minutes before you're able to go into it.
