that's the plan
it just.... spun around... then BLEW UP!
and that just happens sometimes
Too bad there aren't any mechanics that care about recoil damage.
One of these days we'll get a mon or item that gives you boosts when you take recoil damage to make recoil moves good.
Boutta post my team again once I finish cooking dinner
alright
New [Gen 9] RU RMT @small spruce. I won't notify you again for at least 6 hours.
politoed's set isn't right you should go back to the one you were using before
same for the overqwil set, we've been over it you need Swords Dance on it
Basculegion also doesn't need Aqua Jet since it will nearly always be faster than anyone on the opposing team
so just run Ice Beam
rest is fine
Yeah I ran into a few matches getting wrecked by dragons
salamence and hisuian goodra
lemme change that
I think my only issue now is politoed dyng
Should I shove rain dance somewhere else?
Yeah I should just not use Politoed unless it runs out
and you should win your games in less than 20-30 everytime
Can I give Forretress something to blow up Gengar?
Everybody switches into Gengar so I can't rapid spin hazards away
you can use Heavy Slam on it
but gengar lets overqwil setup for free
so you like when gengar is on the field
Do we get better dark moves than Crunch?
not really no
at least not physical ones, yeah
kinda sorta, throat chop
I'd say crunch is still better in most tiers
but you're right throat chop has good niches
is Power Trick Forretress a good or bad or terrible idea?
Bad idea
Fair. But not a terrible one?
Still terrible, you still lack offensive power
At best it’s an super unreliable gimmick and usually it’s terrible like wonder room and stuff
Maybe power trick could be good if it lasted the entire battle
Nah it would just be to plop Forre down, power trick, then explode with 140 base def counting as attack
Why would you want to use this move
Your goal is not to explode and deal damage with Forretress
You want to setup hazard and make sure you don’t have them on your side
The damage part will be something the other mons have to do
But everybody's gonna swap into ghost to prevent rapid spin
very probably yeah
I am considering spikes or t-spikes over stealth rock as good as rock is
How much per turn is toxic spikes?
spikes and rocks are better
Yeah. I was just thinkin' that Overqwil's barb barrage has 100 power if the target is poisoned
Help me 😭
My slowbro team (approved by some others) is on a heavy losing streak
I mean like L after L
It’s BADDDD
send paste first
list out why are you losing and what are you losing to so if we know if its a team issue, skill issue, or both.
i am not a huge expert but maybe its also because a new suspect just started and you are getting smoked by the suspect smurfs.
yeah a good number of good players will be on ladder for a few weeks because of the ongoing suspect
if your level is below them it's normal to lose a few more games than usual
@small spruce it’s the team you gave to me, I was on a losing streak but now I’m back on top. Sorry for interrupting lol
lol
What's on the chopping block today?
I even got a slowbro moment sweep today
Anyway here is the team, I added a few little changes: https://pokepast.es/5e873c9eea1e45fd
New [Gen 9] RU RMT @small spruce. I won't notify you again for at least 6 hours.
Can you guys rate it?
yanmega is being suspect tested
Poor bug 😢
the elephant not having a STAB move feels very wrong
otherwise it's mostly alright
I would personally use Taunt over Sludge Bomb on volcanion since Sludge Bomb doesn't help you with anything really
you break past some of you move bulky checks like chansey or umbreon
Fair.
How much speed investment does umbreon use?
none
Oh nice.
So I don’t have to invest much speed investment or is there another threat?
the speed you already have on volcanion is good
Really?
I just looked at the EVs on the volcanion smogon thing and said “yes”
Is there any flying type that gets rocks?
yes we make optimised spreads for people to use
you can even read the analysis we wrote to learn more about volcanion in RU
Oh nice! Ty!
you have gligar but that's pretty much it I think
but gligar uses spikes most of the time
Oh lol
Do you swift swim + max speed EVs usually?
But my spike spinner is still forretress
Spinning other spikes/hazards while setting up spikes and giving chip to contact moves with a rocky helm
in rain you go 252 speed EVs but a Modest nature
yeah I was just answering your question above
I didn't reply to the right message lol
Oh lol
And then enough on Politoed to outrun like Hisuian Goodra and friends
I wanna replace copperajah with a flying type
Kilowattrel
That knows rocks
pretty much yeah
you don't have to slot rocks and spikes in your team you know
I still want rocks but I also want a flying type
one form of hazard is usually more than enough
Rocks/spikes really screw up Sturdy mons
Wait should I run Tera ghost on forretress so no one can rapid spin my spikes or is tera water good?
tera ghost is a good idea if hazards are your main gameplan
Brb thanks for the advice I’ll be back soon
anytime
I’m back
What abilities does Gengar usually run?
levitate 🗣️🔥
gyro ball is enough to destroy gengar
Yeah I have a screen recorded video of a gyro ball 1hko’n to gardevoir
https://pokepast.es/79a7a308b81c6e47
for gligar I wanted to keep it as bulky as possible while outspeeding 252+ crawdaunt and guaranteed 2 shot utility jirachi with EQ
see now you have three defensive walls
3?
oh the elephant also was invested in defense
well you really really don't need that many
slowbro is enough realistically
Ik but I want hazard stack
if we wanted to really optimise the team we could get rid of forretress and gligar
or slowbro and forretress
K what should I replace for gligar? (I want something with a ground immunity)
hazard stack is often just chesnaught for spikes, empoleon for rocks and cyclizar for removal
and you got a solid defensive core
Oh mb
It can’t be a slowbro moment without a slowbro
well the team doesn't adapt to slowbro well
Or else it’d just be “moment”
I can send you teams with slowbro if you want
Ok imma try smth
Brb
I think I done it
A good core with a SlowBro Moment
https://pokepast.es/cf812e5f3576b059 I think I did it
why are you putting 4 in SpA on slowbro and cyclizar?
otherwise yes these two go well together
now you need a hazard setter and a fast mon able to take advantage of Terrakion's breaking abilities
something like Entei could be alright since you need a check to fairy types
with like krookodile for rocks
and scarf gardevoir
I think I cooked
Wait nvm I forgot to add my last Mon lol
@small spruce https://pokepast.es/dc0c4d456766e275
you don't have hazards which makes the team weird
you did it again
now slowbro looks out of place in that composition
it's basically an Hyper Offense so Slowbro has nothing to do here
and taunt is a bad idea on gardevir since you are locked by the choice scarf you want to be locked on a damaging move and never taunt
use trick instead
one year since my first rate here dang
New [Gen 9] RU RMT @small spruce. I won't notify you again for at least 6 hours.
is this team good?
Gardevoir and Gallade on the same team seems weird maybe i should put scarf Zapdos-Galar instead of Gallade
update: changed feraligatr to cloyster and got better results
and changed Gallade to Zapdos-Galar
Version 4 of Heavy Offense
https://pokepast.es/aa05029f121cf39d
Modification of the team you gave me before, Rarelyme. Once Yanmega is (probably) banned, would reinstating Gallade be a good option?
hi this team seems a bit random, these mons don't seem to do anything for one another
this gardevoir set is unviable I'm afraid
and your team is too weak to hazard to have forretress to deal with it all alone
I'm sure cloyster can steal games here and there but you could support it way better than that imo
what do you mean when you say that terrakion isn't doing much? a suicide lead is pretty straightforward and nearly always does what it has to do
that salamence also doesn't have any sweeping potential, a dragon dance set would be more appropriate here
scarf gallade isn't great since you can just have it but faster thanks to agility and stronger since you can now give it a boosting item like the life orb
Re Terakion, I could just be getting outplayed. But before I switched to Salamence, that bug fairy with Electoweb kept wrecking me. I know my Salamence isn't optimal, but I kept just losing to Hippowdon and wanted some more special attacking and resilience against it. For Gallade: I mostly asked because whenever I had Leaf Blade, I'd want Night Slash, and whenever I had Night Slash, I'd want Leaf Blade.
If terrakion is getting up rocks and denying the opponents rocks, then it's doing its job. You already have 3 special attackers, so I would say you can deal with hippo alright. +2 CC from Lucario already heavily chunks hippo and e-quake from mence doesn't make contact (to avoid rocky helmet) while hippo can't do anything back.
The bug/fairy type is ribombee, which I'm guessing is the mon with sticky web. Sticky web is always annoying for HO, but you simply lead terrakion and rock blast it immediately. Lucario and salamence should help in that matchup.
I would say if you want to include gallade on a team, you determine what move you can drop. If you can't deal with psychic types through teammates well, you go with night slash. Otherwise, go leaf blade.
I did try scarf gallade, and it's simply not good. Unlike garde, it doesn't have the utility of trace. I agree with rarelyme that an agility set would be better in that regard, though honestly you would use gallade for its ability to destroy defensive teams.
yeah, I misremembered the move name
I tried a team that drops lucario, but I think the rest of the changes hurt it
any viability of Ballon + Nasty Plot Lucario? I'm reworking it and I realized I could use another special attacker since my new build is Terakion + two of (Gallade, Revavroom, Dragon Dance Salamence)
Nasty plot Lucario is fine, but it's usually outclassed by other special sweepers. It usually runs a set of np, shadow ball, flash cannon and then vacuum wave I think last.
Okay, it runs aura sphere last
I would probably recommend against np Lucario, as again, most other special attackers outclass it. It also really wants life orb as due to its stabs being somewhat low bp, it wants as much damage as possible.
And also cause 115 special attack is only fine, it really wants to pick up ohkos due to its poor bulk
If you want a np sweeper, then one of Gengar or zoroark hisui is good
My Air Balloon Physical Lucario has had some troubles when people save a tera for ghost later
ooh, zoroark, that's always given me headaches
Zoroark is a difficult mon to use at times due to disguise, however, it has a lot of return
and some good resists
zoroark is supposed to be choiced?
need to look up the mechanics of illusion, then
I think np is better for sweeping
Something like this could be a good base
Bisharp I find is a great partner to horoark, as it makes physical walls switch in or lures in fighting types that want to hit it with cc
You can probably add another special sweeper last
Illusion works by disguising zoroark as the last mon in your party (when you get into battle, it will tell you how to order your team).
There's some more mechanics related to it I believe, so it can be annoying to figure out
just looked it up
I'll swap to NP zoro after this battle
thoughts on taking -5 BP for Bitter Malice to stop enemy sweeps?
I would say no, shadow ball allows you to get some ranges that are better for sweeping and the attack drop doesn't really mean much due to horoark's bad bulk
kk, just seen a lot of it when I see enemy zoro
Its an interesting move, which is why I understand why you asked about it, but its unforunately not worth it
I'm tempted to ditch yanmega from my current team because it's stopped sweeping so much
Yanmega is less so a sweeper, and moreso a cleaner
It doesn't really have OHKO potential really, and more is meant to come in late game in order to pick off targets with speed boost
Though ofc, you can use it early game to pinch holes for teammates
(heh, I've gotten KOs I shouldn't have by attacking first while they buff, THEN protecting for x2 speed)
oh, though from the thing you pasted, Bisharp would be a good replacement for Lucario
I would say keep terrakion as the lead, as somebody who has experimented with kleavor, it isn't really a great lead, as most other leads are also able to get up rocks reliably.
How has garde been working out on the team? I don't really like it on HO, but if its been working out its then that's fine
she thrashed rain teams and dragons
Alright, if its been working well, then keep garde
she's a decent cleaner, and possibly an answer to hippowdon
or, that's how I've used her
though, I only rarely use Healing Wish
very rarely
Healing wish is a very good tool for allowing a teammate to get to full and sweep again, though it can be annoying to recognise when to use it
Lemme just test the team quickly, I think yanmega we might need to drop
I keep finding Yanmega needs the Tera, but I've already used it for someone else
The main issue with yanmega is that its a bit of a tera hog yeah
Armarouge has been finicky for me, but when they work, they WORK
(psyshock is such fun in calm mind duels)
(hello Cresselia and Reuniclus)
Okay, I would say after a game of testing, the team is good. I think honestly gallade might have to be replaced as it frankly didn't feel like it was contributing a whole lot. However, the game was against rain which gallade doesn't do well into, so I'll just ask but how has gallade been performing for you?
Yanmega does feel a bit awkward on this team, but I think you keep it for its ability to outspeed multiple targets
gallade hasn't been the best, but he pulls his weight often enough
You could also go the SD route with gallade, as with garde+yanmega+bisharp is already a lot of speed control
oh, I don't have bisharp yet; still using lucario
I would say use bisharp
https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9ru-2245483760 Here's the test game
Watch a replay of a Pokémon battle between im new 2 this game and yanmega gaming! Format: [Gen 9] RU; Date: Nov 17, 2024
https://pokepast.es/4021bdad7d3451ec Here's the updated team if you need it
hating ribombee again
wanting to go back to agility on gallade for sticky web... but that's so niche
https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9ru-2245487162 Had another test game, I just don't think gallade is it
Watch a replay of a Pokémon battle between enerjihan and yanmega gaming! Format: [Gen 9] RU; Date: Nov 17, 2024
This game was way too close for comfort
any ideas for when yanmega gets banned?
I think maybe hisuian lilligant could be a good option for this team
Hmm
I would say ribombee is the next replacement
Quiver dance, bug buzz, moonblast and tera blast ground
Though you can also use psychic noise over bug buzz
https://pokepast.es/1664bb3816bf2bd5 This could probably be good.
https://pokepast.es/42deef4a4ebddf7a And this could be the ribombee version
Bisharp is a very big pain for web teams, as defiant allows it to get +2 and it can outspeed with sucker punch
However, if you are going to keep gallade, then you will just have to carefully switch around bisharp and Yanmega
I ditched gallade for hilligant
You can also tera flying on bisharp in order to hit them with iron head
I just took the entire team you posted, the one that still has yanmega
Yeah, see how that team works out
early in testing, but it looks like it's working
there's always a counter -_- Trick Room is a pain
Yeah, trick room unfortunately is kinda an autoloss for HO. The best you can do is sack teammates while Yanmega protects to waste TR turns until it can try to sweep.
Bisharp can also try to help with sucker punch priority, but it's a very bad matchup
Hello! If I want my team to be rated, I write it in here?
yes you can link the team paste and write a couple comments so we understand your thought process behind it
What do you mean with thought process? An essay about each pokémon? And is this here for Violet?
no you don't have to write an essay... just what your starting point was or like what kind of team you wanted to go for stuff like that
it helps rater
I only have to find out the English names.
If you put them in a pokepaste, it should be translate them
What is a pokepaste?
Its a website that takes your teams from pokemon showdown and displays there sets in a different webpage
https://pokepast.es/325248ea3409a4fc This would what a team would look like in a pokepaste for example
ok and what format do I choose there?
This is for Gen 9 RU
In the showdown builder at a team, there should be a link that says "upload to PokePaste"
It will automatically copy your team into a pokepaste
and then I put the link here from Pokepaste?
snow cloak, Meowscarada and Miraidon are banned
Um, so what mons do you have on your team?
This sounds more like a vgc team if anything
Glaceon, Jolteon, Lucario, Vaporeon, Meowscarada, Miradon.
And is this doubles or singles?
I have no double pokémon.
Doubles means two pokemon from your party are out on the field at the same time
Singles meanwhile means only one pokemon from your party is out on the field
only if it is a two against two battle
Yeah, that's doubles
https://discord.com/channels/192713314399289344/1059704283072831499 Here's where you can find people to help with doubles teams
This channel is for singles in the RU format, which is the tier below both OU and UU
But that doesn't make a difference, because I always have the same team.
your team isn't legal in the format we are rating here
so this is not the right place for you to be sharing it
I don't get it, but it doesn't matter.
I'd advise you to learn how smogon's tiering system works before sharing teams in this discord
otherwise you will have a hard time finding people able to help you
Why should I? Pokémon are Pokémon. My team is universal, it doesn't need the right place or group. We don't have to make everything so difficult. But this takes too much time anyway.
If you enjoy your team, then that's fine. However, this channel is for the RU tier, which is created to make sure pokemon that don't have viability in OU or UU can have a place. We rate teams based on that and do that. We cannot help you with your team as snow cloak, mewoscarada and Miraidon are not legal in this format.
Think of it like weight classes in boxing. In order to give a level playing field, they seperate people into them so they can face equally good fighters.
I don't understand ou and uu.
FAQ about Smogon's tiering
Hi!
Hey!
@small spruce hi sorry to bother you again. I just wanted to know if there is any possible way galarean would be good on an offensive volcanion team that you helped me make the other day . Hope you’re doing well. Have a good day.
Hello!
Very kind message thank you. Do you mean Galarian Zapdos?
Galarian slowbro lol . I know it’s NU but I like that pokemon and i just wanted to know if its usable on a RU team
Thank you does Glowbro and Volcanion work well on the team together?
It would just need a lot of support against ground types
You could put Zapdos-G on the team for physical damage output and Noivern as your hazard removal
What’s the best Chesnaught set for a defense set?? Or is assault vest good???
I like Iron Defense Body Press
But spikes is a solid set
Basically if you go AV, you’re getting rid of the utility that makes Chestnaught great
I wouldn't use AV, chester really wants to run its own recovery and/or spikes
usually you want to run body press, knock, iron defense or spikes, and synthesis
After getting messed up by Trick Room and stall, I decided on backing off the "heavy" on "heavy offense", so how's this team: https://pokepast.es/8a3e75b14798acb3
it went 4-2 in testing
In those two loses did you feel like you lost to anything specific or was it maybe how you played, at first glance this looks like a solid team
One of them was a Krookodile with intimidate when I was on my last mon
switch in, switch out...
there was also some pain with a scarfed slowbrow
(I scarfed it with trick)
another... I think it was haxxy both ways, but I got hit at worse times
In theory, your arma set wins against Krook and Bisharp too (in a pinch with tera)
oh, just remembered that Banded Crawdaunt is an absolute pain that forced wish spam on jirachi
I did win that one with Conkeldurr + Jirachi, but it was an absolute pain
Was wondering about a defensive Tera on Conkeldurr, then I remembered it's Aqua Jet I often worry about so nvm there
I’ve been caught out like that before but with Milotic, I think you just need to have the foresight to navigate what you do or if you should even trick slowbro in the first place
so don't scarf slowbrow until I know it's stall and not balance
(any idea why the dex page for Talonflame says tera ghost?)
Well, it’s a case by case basis, what was that Slowbro outspeeding? Conk?
ah, sorry. I misled you. It didn't outspeed; it just overpowered me.
regenerator woes
Do you have the replay of that? I kinda wanna see what happened
I don't, sorry
but slowbrow was the cleaner at the end
bulky enough to endure a hit, then retreat
well, cleaner-like
Well, I'm not sure how to really describe it. But it finished me off after I was weakened
Right, no I get ya, it might just have been the plays you made rather than an actual flaw within the team
yeah
I just remembered
I burned it
so I had some trouble flinching it with jirachi
garde: spam moonblast with tera?
I think I've been a little too conservative with Arma; I keep worrying about a priority revenge kill (Crawdaunt)
If you’re positioned to get the most value doing that, then yes, I noticed it helps a lot not to exactly think about the problem in front of me but to try and see what the best course of action to get back on the offensive is or deal the most damage with a combination of mons
come to think of it, slowbrow and crawdaunt gave me the most trouble
so Water is my big trouble
Craw is definitely scary
I need to check relative to Mach Punch
Well Craw is always going to be scary
I like Craw in this tier, anyways
It’s biggest weakness is its speed
It’s incredibly hard to switch into, unless you have a Wo-Chien or something
So if you see a Craw, you might have to play more aggressively to limit Crawdaunt’s power
at least I was able to basically force a weaker aqua jet into someone who could take 2 banded jets
though it swapping in on -1 or -2 Def Conk did NOT help Conk
though I have noticed that I can actually do better against Hippowdon than any team I've used before
Yeah, that’s good, if it can do well against a common defensive staple then it’s a solid team
so, should I swap tera ghost on talonflame?
like, I have no idea why I have that other than "the dex said so"
If you want, ghost is there because it covers most of Talon’s weaknesses
Without sacrificing too much
weak to water is why it doesn't go Ground, then?
I'd love to be able to eat a T-wave or Thunderbolt
Well, that’s up to you
Again, Ghost is there because it covers most of its weaknesses
I'll try and keep an eye on how often I wish for electric immune vs ghost's power
Yeah for sure
At this stage, I would say save your replays
After each battle
And be honest with yourself about the outcome, if it was your play or legitimately a problem with the team, if you lose try and see what you could have done differently with the team you have
Because you expressed your concerns with Craw and Slowbro but you honestly have an answer to both of them
and did beat craw, 50% vs slowbro
Then going forward and pending further data, I'm regarding it as "less strong" against some things that I need to be careful against
and if I fail to be careful, 100% on me. Pretty sure my losses were both that
Each team is going to have it’s strengths and weaknesses, I say it’s only a problem if you repeatedly lose to something no matter how you adjust your strategy to it
I’m saying like, it’s an auto loss when you see it at preview that’s when it’s a team problem
But, if you dread seeing it and it causes problems but you have won before, then… you can do it, you’ll be smart enough to win against it if you won before
hm, from what I've seen in other teams, I could see some problems with volcanion. Though Gardevoir and Conk seem like they could be answers, or armarouge as a soft check
do you agree with that assessment?
Volc is a problem, yes
*arma as long as it stays endure + weakness policy
part of me really wants a water resist, then
Arma really is your only answer to it then
Let me think for a sec, because I want one too at this point
Okay. I've got to go to sleep; I'll check this after I get up
(I'm up an hour later than I wanted lol)
It’s 2am for me… we’ll get back to this in the morning yeah
one quick thing before I really sign off: Volcanion. Eats water, and Tera out of Water to use Earth Power on electric. If I go unorthodox and go Tera Grass with Tera Blast, then I can demolish Quagsire and Gastrodon, who both otherwise give me some trouble
(if I replace Armarogue, that is)
Ahhhh well
You’re going to demolish Quag without Tera Grass
It’s sp def simply isn’t good enough to handle Volc, and most of them are unaware
And for Gastro, your physical breakers can break through it for sure, Gastros are usually sp def in RU
However I wouldn’t worry too much about Gastrodon yet
This team looks fine enough
Main issue with it is no water resist/type
I would probably say tera water for rachi and tera grass for armarouge
Otherwise, this team is solid
Only other thing would be replacing arma with something like volcanion, agility herscu or suicune
Maybe you honestly also swap out wish for encore or u-turn on rachi
okay, teras changed. Wish has saved me often enough on rachi that I'm hesistant to swap that one. But what's herscu? I'm not familiar with that nickname
That's basculegion female
ah, "her" for ... I get it
I'll look into alternates with those three
is there a particularly good Volcanion combo? Looking at Body Press + Earth Power or Sludge Bomb, but I've come to realize that when the Dex gives the same move (Taunt in this case) after a / multiple times, it means pick that move + one of the others
I would say taunt+body press is the best
Mainly because it does a lot better into defensive teams
Sludge bomb is a very niche option
okay, I have four teams now. One with just the swapped teras, and one with each of the three mons (volcanion, suicune, basculegion-f) replacing armarogue
and I'll try and track how they do
I look forward to being able to sneer at crawdaunt with tera dark volcanion
(and at slowbrow)
(actually, I don't have anything supereffective vs slowbrow, so I'll have to choose someone else to fight him)
well, volcanion doesn't have anything SE vs him
how long does a replay last when it's uploaded for sharing?
If its uploaded for sharing, forever
However, non uploaded lasts about 15 minutes I think
okay, so when I get 10 games with each team, I can review them at my leisure. Once I make sure to copy the links, that is
(and download them)
Yeah, that's a good practice to do
I'm 5-4 with volcanion team right now
3.5 losses were my fault
Didn't deserve one of the wins, and another I got lucky early
and now 6-4
What I've learned from 10 matches: I have a problem letting people set up on me if I think I can wear them down, I need to go for Taunt and pressing the attack against setup mons, if someone has two moves of the same type then I may miss the second one, and Talonflame + Jirachi are definitely mostly supports.
And: DDance Salamence with all lof Dragon Claw, Dual Wingbeat, and Earthquake thrashes me if it Teras to Steel. Forgot that I used to run that exact set back in Yanmega's days.
any advice for beating that guy?
because talonflame dies fast if it gets that DDance in.
Main way would be to get in talon, try to burn it, potentially sacking it. Another way is to tera bisharp on the e-quake then try to sweep
DD mence can be really annoying
Another thing is force it to tera steel, then revenge with conk
at one boost, it outspeeds talonflame
Ah, right, conkeldurr. I'll need to review that loss and see if they didn't take out conk first
okay, yeah, it used dual wingbeat while conk was in. Should have swapped
and before it tera'd
on the gardevoir revenge kill, it danced and turned to steel
two ways I could have done that: scarf it with Trick or take the 85% chance of will-o-wisp
probably would have won if I had
wrote down notes on each game right after playing it
another thing I learned to fear: scarf krookodile
Earthquake shreds me if I lose Talonflame to a stone edge early and don't have a tera flying for bisharp
hm, though water jirachi can survive, too
I'm conflicted. I went 6-4 with Volcanion, but most of the losses were just plain my fault
While I went 7-3 with Suicune but the losses were less my fault
If u ever need help with replay review, I got ya

My main thought: called the Dragon Dance poorly
Wouldn’t hurt to optimize the suicune evs, would you suggest HP/SPEED Max/Max @whole tulip?
I usually want some Sp Def
By what
actually I don't remember
I like the Suicune team a lot
oh right, it wasn't bisharp
it was zoroark DISGUISED AS bisharp
in the heat of the moment, I thought I'd taken out the zoroark
I mean, you can see how you feel with evs it’s just, the extra bulk either in Def or Sp def can make Suicune that much more of a nuisance
https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9ru-2264317484
Lost this one; forgot Zorark was Scarfed (outsped Talonflame). Not sure if saccing Bisharp was the right move or not
Watch a replay of a Pokémon battle between test_aura and shades of snow! Format: [Gen 9] RU; Date: Dec 16, 2024
still have a basculegion-f to do, as well as comparing it to armarogue with Tera Grass (I expect that one to not do well)
I’ll give my full thoughts on this tomorrow when I wake up, there’s a lot of stuff I want to talk to you about
Like Turn 12 what was your thought process behind the sucker punch
Right but what would be the difference in Sucker Punch vs Night Slash
Yeah Chop
Well I haven’t looked at the rest but damage on bish shouldn’t of been much of a factor
Right, it’s perfect though, means we have room for improvement play wise
should have tera'd conk after saccing someone
then swapped out and healing wish
not used gardevoir, since I knew they were scarfed
I’ll let ya know what I see when I wake up, I mean, it’s great that you’re willing to improve and you did do stuff well also
re: liking suicune, Heatrantor suggested all three of the changes I'm testing: volcanion, suicune, and basculegion-f
(if another rater comes online, I'll be back in a couple hours)
Usually you should go enough evs for 404 hp, and then you can either go more HP or put in another stat
Max speed though i think is essential
Means that you can threaten a lot more things with scald
I'll check the replays and teams in about 30 mins probably cause I'm a bit busy rn
Okay, nevermind, you need 252 evs in HP to get 404 hp. Sad
Sp.defense is really nice, but 404 substitutes mean you can easily beat chansey
Maybe you could drop speed a bit
Faster then armarouge definetely
Suicune @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 252 HP / 80 SpD / 176 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Substitute
- Calm Mind
- Scald
- Protect
Something like this might be good
Your outspeed by slither, specs garde and specs basc
But that's probably worth it
I think the big misplay was staying in on krook with garde. It was a big threat to the opposing team
And ngl, tera garde wasn't really the best there, moonblast with without tera eviscerated the team. tera flying bisharp could do a lot
I think once tentacruel came in, you should have switched to bisharp probably. Suicune wasn't making any progress and you could healing wish it back up
And the sucker punch was def a misplay as angel said
changed
I think I got hung up on out-defending it and hoping for a scald burn to wear it down
but in retrospect, I should have remembered that tentacruel's more bulky, not a heavy hitter
Yeah
I like faster than gyara but ig doesn't really matter as much since it's dding anyway
Threatening scald 1st can be big tho
Hi guys what’s a good Noivern Defog set/ spread
wrong channel
also just google "noivern smogon" Worked for me
and click on smogdex
they got sets for the viable mons
I'm guessing this isn't for RU (cause the wrong channel comment) but max speed with timid is always necessary and then you can either go max special attack or max hp
Roost, draco, defog and then any of flamethrower, super fang, taunt, psychic noise or u-turn last
https://pokepast.es/1134f818b18394ca
I tried creating a VoltTurn team but was wondering if I should swap out Slitherwing for a Choice Scarf Mienshao/Gapdos, replace Suicune with Gengar or Hisuian Zoroark, or choose a different lead (maybe Swampert?). Any other feedback would also be nice.
New [Gen 9] RU RMT @small spruce, @whole tulip, @spark sapphire, @red fossil. I won't notify you again for at least 6 hours.
I would suggest a scarf zap, this team seems really ground weak
That would be a start
Fighting weak as well
I’m not confident in our volt switch users since Thundy is gone I think a double u-turn dynamic is much more feasible
yeah the only decent volt switch user I could find was Mag
I like the core of your Jirachi, Wing, and Cyc
Who would you suggest swapping Gapdos in for then?
Well, I think there’s a way to create something similar without gapdos
I’ll shoot you back another team in a few hours unless someone wants to me suggest some stuff for me, I’m at work rn
Ok ty!
https://pokepast.es/e0946182a713e6d2 k so these are some edits I made off the top of my head, I'm going to try and get some games with it later to make any adjustments but before I do that is there anything you want me to change about this team
So I'm by no means good at this game but I've noticed the team seems to struggle with Volcanion
🤔
Even with Suicune?
Oh it’s the set that’s blanked by volc
Hmm
Try scarf garde
There’s like 7 billion different changes I want to make but I almost feel RU is a bit samesy sometimes even since Yanmega left
Neither here nor there, we’ll make adjustments
in place of Sucine?
mhmm
👍
That could work as well
https://pokepast.es/006e37f926469146
@spark sapphire thoughts
Based Bronzong, probably the only thing is maybe have a 2nd hazard remover to support typh but that’s about it, I’ll take a closer look on my lunch probs
bringing this back up: I went 6-4 with Volcanion (losses mostly my fault), 6-4 with Basculegion-F (some misplays, that turned a check to my team into a counter, some major misplays), and 7-3 with the team involving this one. And Suicune got used a lot more than Volcanion, and that a lot more than Basculegion-F. So, very grateful for that suggestion.

I’ve played you on ladder
I recognize your username
https://pokepast.es/852797884bf6da5a try this actually
I was the one messing around with Armarouge/Mimikyu

oki doki
The stored power set? That was horrifying to go up against.
It was the stored power weakness policy set

Do you think encore is the play over body slam?
🤔
If you want slam replace u-turn
Rare Angel fast response
I hope your employer lets you take that lunch break soon..
I forgor my computer
Can you tell me a really good team for me to do in RU until gen 8?
I'm a bit of a beginner
I only know current gen…
I can grab some teams from RUWC however, I don’t know if they’re good
https://pokepast.es/46db4589d04a066c
This is really just a slightly modified sample team (bp on pangoro and s-ball on vapo), but uhh, it did win me a game in a tourney.
thanks for spending a team
I'm going to play some "ranked" matches in a pokemon game and the tier is RU and it only has up to gen8
and as I'm very young I don't know what's strong and what's not
my friend wants to make a team for RU with gengar in the same style (up to gen8) do you know any?
We would love to but sadly Gengar can’t be used in RU unless it’s Gen 9 RU, I believe
Hello all, jumping back into the RU tier after some time and would like help on this hazard stack team. Any feedback would be appreciated. https://pokepast.es/057648c78aa3cd12
New [Gen 9] RU RMT @small spruce, @whole tulip, @spark sapphire, @red fossil. I won't notify you again for at least 6 hours.
From first glance it seems solid enough but it doesn’t have any hard hitting speed control
I like the air balloon Terrak and taunt Cyc
I’ve lost to a well positioned cyc in late game though so it might but be the biggest problem but something to be aware of
That I can resolve with giving scarf to roark
Should I have another regen mon to compliment cyclizar?
For sure, see what you prefer, because sometimes Scarf Zoro can feel underwhelming
Not necessarily
What else would be good for speed control? And to also spinblock?
Scarf F-Bascu perhaps
I like the team though don’t get me wrong
But that’s the only problem I can pick out at first glance
I appreciate it. I modeled it to be similar to my hazard stack team in OU
I made the change. Seems good, but I am concerned I am weak to foretress
I will test it out
How so, forre gets shredded by any sp atk
Can I ask your help with another team I built, a HO team? @spark sapphire
Of course!
Oh lol. Sorry, quite inexperienced with some of these mons
Thanks! Here it is https://pokepast.es/16a75211e0b2bedd
Uhh
With the Krook
Make it focus sash if it’s ho
And consider bulldoze instead of earthquake to get the edge on other offensive leads by slowing them down
Leftovers Krook on HO should be bulk up scale shot instead of suicide lead
With the Zoro
Go with Throat Spray and replace trick with Agility or Nasty Plot
Mew, Conk, and Gyara are good to go
About the Zoro, I was thinking of swapping it with scarf Gardevoir for trick and healing wish capability
Never a bad idea on ho
Helps you manage rain
Never a bad idea in general
Yeah, another element to work with, because I have mew as a set up sp atk-er
Yeah I would say go for it
Right on, and vroom is good?
Yeah Vroom set is money
Hell yeah, greatly appreciate your help! Will test these changes. Thanks again
Will do!
Looks like angel got to this before me, but yeah, this all looks good
Rare fast Angel response
Lol
Only thing would be to make gyara t-blast flying over E-quake, as I've found otherwise it's a bit too weak/stonewalled by important mons. Also helps with ches which can be annoying for this team if it teras at the right moment
Gyarados @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Moxie
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 176 HP / 96 Atk / 24 Def / 212 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Tera Blast
- Rest
Chesto Resto is also a good option on gyara
This is good to know. I will make the tera change and add tera blast. Will change evs as well.
I will hang on to taunt tho for the time being
Taunt is a fine option on gyara
Thanks for the advice
https://pokepast.es/cfeff529da9d4cff
Gen 6 RU help me improve dark MU. Though I really want my Glalie and my fire-water-grass core kept
@whole tulip @spark sapphire ru guys rating past gens RU?
replace uxie with registeel and you should be good to go
the mu against drap is ok
and regi will help against sneasel
Is my opposing Flygon MU fine?
Oh ya forgot to consider that
registeel will also help against sp attackers
I think it's alright
gastro should deal with it
Idk if it's enough though but yea thanks
you can slot ice beam over earth power if you want
Btw why does Registeel has 24 SpA on smogset?
If it can only run Seismic toss?
these EVs are to break braviary's sub with thunderbolt
which you can slot over protect
yes
Aight thanks
@whole tulip I already replaced Uxie for Registeel, but that makes my Virizion MU shaky, how can I improve it?
@small spruce
I'm not a oras ruer but defog on spikes always feels like iffy to me
U could prolly go Scarf gon + smtg else over mowtom
My core includes mowtom though, but I agree on the defog on spikes
Tbh my team is a bit fast paced and I don't think Registeel really fits here
I wanna fit something like a ghost type to spin block though
Tho ig
Or maybe just remove spikes overall
U have glalie and doom so u do need removal
Yah, I like Bulky gon here
Or just go Blastoise > Gastrodon lol and drop Registeel for another mon
Then proceed on scarf Gon
What if this https://pokepast.es/f29b58765f2bfb3e
Roar over ice beam on Blastoise, so it can phase out scrafty if it switches in
Also works well with spikes
Aight, I changed Registeel for Bronzong, just a secondary answer to Virizion variants
Yeah, that's definitely a good option
Aight thanks
Does anyone have a team with goodra? yes goodra... my friend likes this pokemon and really wants to use it in RU
Hello all, was in here a couple of days ago asking for advice on a HO team I recently built. With the tier shifts occuring and half of my team going to UU, I made changes. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! https://pokepast.es/a8922e42ca575cd2
New [Gen 9] RU RMT @small spruce, @whole tulip, @spark sapphire, @red fossil. I won't notify you again for at least 6 hours.
Okay, so you def need another special attacker
Entei I think is def the most replaceable (choice locked mons on HO aren't usually great besides garde)
Volcanion, cm raikou, np horoark could all work here
https://pokepast.es/bd204ece0f5324a9
This team has been sort-of here before, but got a problem with Magnezone that makes that one enemy a pain to play around.
thanks in advance
Well, you need to replace conk with something since its now gone
oh?
Tier shifts (I'm sad that conk is gone)
for the ground type. I was looking into a tera, but now that I know I have to get rid of Conk...
Rhyperior @ Leftovers
Ability: Solid Rock
Tera Type: Dragon
EVs: 252 HP / 196 SpD / 60 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Megahorn
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
Something like this imo
If you want to go more defensive, then you could use rocks gastro and replace rocks on rachi with u-turn
I'm curious about the Tera and why Megahorn specifically
Tera dragon is a good general defensive type since it resists both grass and water
Megahorn slams slowbro, which can sometimes take a hit from it
Rhyperior @ Leftovers
Ability: Solid Rock
Tera Type: Dragon
EVs: 252 HP / 16 Atk / 180 SpD / 60 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Megahorn
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
Run this ev spread
and then ditch jirachi?
16 attack is the jump point
This is instead of conk
Rachi works fine here
You can imo either go rocks on rhyperior and put on u-turn for rachi
Or keep rocks on rachi and go megahorn
hm. I just lost a heavy hitter vs Slowbrow... but I still have Trick Gardevoir and Throat Chop Bisharp, so I think I can make do without too much overkill vs slowbrow?
Well, sd rhyperior hits slowbro really hard
+2 16+ Atk Rhyperior Megahorn vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Slowbro: 346-408 (87.8 - 103.5%) -- 25% chance to OHKO
This is why I like megahorn
Slowbro cannot switch in at all
+2 16+ Atk Rhyperior Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Slowbro: 216-255 (54.8 - 64.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
But if you don't use megahorn
Slowbro isn't too comfortable switching in
okay, going for Megahorn, then
ooh, revavroom is out
that was annoying to make sure I got it with will-o-wisp in time
hey, we got Mamoswine, right?
wait, freeze-dry is special never mind
Do you mean Zygarde?
?
Cool I will look and see who is best. Would Suicune work, since it now moved it's way up into the RU tier?
(wasn't it already NUBL?)
Suicune isn't really good on HO
In your message, you mentioned that cb mons are not great on HO and i saw garde
It moved up to RU now
Garde is fine on HO because it can do well against a lot of HO's typical matchups (stuff like rain). But usually choice locked mons just let in something that can set up on them
OHHHHH Gardevoir lollll, my bad
I've been tempted to name my Gardevoir "Screw Rain"
Yeah, I meant gardevoir
lmao
I thought you meant zygarde lmaooooo
Solid haha
I mean, it's one of Gardevoir's biggest uses for me
@whole tulip so between volc, raikou and zoroark-h, which would work best on my team?
along with revenge killing and beating up any fighting/dragon/poison the enemy has not named "scarf gengar"
It counters rain really well?
high speed and special attack. Scarf + copy Swift Swim = outspeed anyone
I've even outsped barraskewda
Oh snap eh, yeah trace is gnarly
Well, I think volc is the first one out since you already have garde for rain. Raikou can be a bit weak even at +1 at times. I would say that zoroark-h is best. It benefits from maushold removing hazards to keep its disguise
Then again, you can try any of them and they will prob work
The horoark set would probably be either np or agility with throat spray/lo I think
I'll give it a try, thanks!
Np
how often are tiering changes, again?
so, quarterly then. Okay
Earlier in the gen they are every month
oh, new gen coming out soon?
Prob not
okay, mind was jumping all over the place
thinking of also trying a mamoswine build over the rhyperior, sort of like when I did the volcanion/suicune/other test
I wanted to know if anyone has a stall team for RU gen 8
No problem friend, it's great... I exchange some pokemons that are banned for others.
I just needed a “start”... thank you very much
Hi, I was just wondering if I could ask of a review of my teams:
https://pokepast.es/e46901f922c12aff - Salamence (HO)
https://pokepast.es/632cde9c17f49c06 - Mamoswine (Offense)
I'm not sure to use, so please let me know if only one team can be reviewed
New [Gen 9] RU RMT @small spruce, @whole tulip, @spark sapphire, @red fossil. I won't notify you again for at least 6 hours.
We can rate both.
The first team I think is fine. I think you should replace boots on mence for lum though, as you have maushold and lum is generally better on HO mence.
For the second team, I think some things could be improved. Fezandipiti I think you should run alluring voice and u-turn on it. Alluring voice helps beat suicune, which looks annoying for this team if it can get a sub up (tera ghost suicune while rare, looks really good into it). U-turn is mainly because it helps get mamo in on the steel types that fez forces. I'm also not really sold on maushold for this team, It isn't really bad persay, but I think for this team you don't need removal. You could use something like scarf horoark in that slot.
Actually, for the first team, I think you might be better going endure armarouge. Gives you an anti cheese option
@lethal basalt lemme know if you need anymore help (I will be going to bed soon, so I'll respond as soon as I'm awake)
Thank you for your help at such short notice, I just have a few questions
Would maushold be ok for the first team?
Reason is because tidy up clears my teams's hazards, which could leave a fainted terrakion lead in vain tor the first team
As for the second team, which position should I put hisui zoroark in to take advantage of illusion? (Maybe put it behind Mamoswine and Jirachi to be immune to Fighting and Ghost attacks)
Get a good's night sleep!
I would say maushold is fine on the first team. It gives you an option if you really need to get off hazards.
For horoark, I'd say in battle you would want to put mamoswine or jirachi last yeah
I see
Thank you for your help
Np
Sorry got another question
For the first team you mentioned that the endure armarouge one, you mentioned that he would be great for anti-cheese?
What do you mean by that?
Well, anti-cheese is a bit hard to define, but usually it means something along the lines of preventing some random sweeper/strategy from sweeping you. Think along the lines of a random dd sweeper or something like rain as more 'cheese'
Got it
For some reason I thought cheese is like accuracy dropping like mud-slap
Tbf, to them a win is a win
https://pokepast.es/5b315d0f58f65d62
So, back when I had Jirachi as a stealth rocks lead, I suffered pain against Hazards + ... is it Phazing? The thing with Roar and Whirlwind... as well as against Rain, since Suicune wasn't able to return much damage against them. So, I swapped Jirachi for Ninetales-Alola. Got a few changes I'm mulling over in my head. Not sure if I need more self-healing like Roost or the now-gone Jirachi's Wish.
It's called phazing, yes (pseudo hazing is where it comes from)
Idk if a-tales fits great on this team ngl
If you really want to use it however, you almost always have to use an np set (usually np, ice stab, tera blast ground, encore)
You could replace bisharp with Magnezone ngl, AV mag looks really good here as a defensive backbone
Cause it could be like, a-tales forces in the steels, you double switch to mag, and then trap them
Also every team honestly needs rocks, so I would keep them on rhyperior
I also think even without a-tales, your weather matchup is really good
Garde murders rain and sun with trace
Rhyperior can tera dragon and pick up huge ko's
Bisharp can revenge kill trailer targets
And Suicune can help a lot against rain
Something like this ngl
I know Suicune can endure the rain attacks, but I've had problem using them to counter-attack... really hating Encore Politoed here
so a-tales is a go, or was that a case of assuming I'm set on using a-tales?
Well, if you really want to use a-tales, then I think you need to use mag
well, I'm not set on a-tales
If you don't want to use a-tales though, then hmmm
it just seemed the next-best way to mess with enemy weather teams
Well, in general, I think you have enough counterplay against weather
hazard phazing was a bigger issue for me, though
Hmm, yeah that's always difficult
figured some ice damage would help
wait, analytic over magnet pull?
oh, for the damage?
I mean, it's working
(got a rage quit on pressure suicune calm mind + substituting both volcanion and night shade deoxys-d lol)
Lol
I would like an opinion from someone who actually plays... unlike me and my friends.
If it’s Gen 9 I got you
Is trick room the strongest team in RU? If not... what would it be?
I wouldn’t say it’s the strongest archetype but it has the biggest boom vs bust
opinions?
New [Gen 9] RU RMT @small spruce, @whole tulip, @spark sapphire, @red fossil. I won't notify you again for at least 6 hours.
The abusers on this team are fine, but the setters are not
I would put mental herb cress, hattrem and mmq as the dedicated setters
mmq?
If you remove Toes and Drif how do you manuver Torkoal?
cause the turtle hates rocks
🤔
maybe sack it for Regidrago then?
oki doki
👍
How do I post a team here?
Oh! I figured it out!
I'm really new to pokemon, and I threw together this team, and it doesn't really work, I'm not really aware of the metagame so some advice would be nice
https://pokepast.es/a54eb5b2bad90fc8
New [Gen 9] RU RMT @small spruce, @whole tulip, @spark sapphire, @red fossil. I won't notify you again for at least 6 hours.
Hmmm
So it’s very ground weak besides Noivern
And you said you’re not familiar at all, like this isn’t a hail team? It’s just a non-weather team that just so happens to use hail?
Because you could put SD on A-Slash and we can get started on that, if not I can help you build around the Pokémon on the team that you like
Hmm, yeah, this seems like half of a hail team ngl
You could either do an offense team with a-tales to support, or a full hail team
https://pokepast.es/4ea3cbcdb844a510
So, I've got a new team, 3-2 (swapped a Mystical Fire for anti-Magnezone off Gardevoir to get Healing Wish back; slim chance I could have been 4-1 if I had that for my 2nd battle).
Fast and Stout, with more emphasis on "Fast"
Big thing that occurs to me is, could I swap out Gallade for Lucario or DDance Salamence, Noivern for Salamence (any spread), Empoleon for Wish+U-turn+Stealth Rock Jirachi, is there something I'm completely missing?
and though I outmaneuvered with sacrifices, priority, and gardevoir, a rain team was hell to fight
Hmm, this honestly looks like an offense team if anything
I think something you could do is healing wish jirachi over empoleon so you have a double h-wish core potentially
healing wish on jirachi > wish + uturn? I didn't realize Jirachi got that move
It does
(though now that I think about it, I think I faced that once)
The set would prob be h-wish, rocks, iron head, u-turn
You could do encore over h-wish if you want to though
leftovers and defensive water tera?
Yeah
hm, encore tends to wreck me when I use setup stuff and when I use it, it often forces people out
oh, I should mention
It depends on what you want
with my playstyle, these days I almost never get to use a setup move
mostly just the threat of one
though encore could change that
Yeah
(calm mind suicune was an exception on my last few teams)
Encore + U-turn into one of my setups then?
it would so wreck calm mind suicune, too
most annoying thing I've ever faced recently
is offense not good right now?
Gallade did some good for me, but not much except as a sacrifice (and whittling down a bronzong). Should I change it out, or just re-focus on an endgame agility + kill everything that's been weakened for me?
could as in the second option, or the first?
I think honestly you could run hilligant on this team
Though make it tera fire with ice spinner over tera blast
tera fire, no tera blast?
Yeah
Tera blast is mainly for geezing
But tera fire sits on geezing still
While also doing a lot better into talonflame
hustle+wide lense, swords dance, ice spinner, close combat, and...?
Leaf blade
... how did I miss that they get that one?
Outspeeds mmq
ah
You can go max speed, but the things at 100 base speed you don't usually beat
and now I get why 4 SpD instead of 4 Def on things
Porygon-Z
wow H-lilli just forced a desperation move that got mamo into a 3/4 remaining enemies all lose to it
WOW thanks. Jirachi + H-lilli is cleaning up
is there a reason Noivern goes for 4 speed points above Cyclizar instead of just over?
Not much point really
I think Gardevoir / H-Lilli / Mimikyu is my new core for all teams
4-0 right now
in 5th battle
... though I really want a rapid spin or something to deal with hazard teams -_-
Hazards can def be annoying for offense teams, but you usually have to out offense them before they get them all up
yeah, turns out u-turn + encore jirachi slaughters chesnaut and crawdaunt
two of my biggest pains
5-0 now
YES, this team is great
thanks again for the changes!
Np
I'd forgotten all about H-lilli
I definetely forget about it sometimes
and how useful jirachi can be outside of parahax spamming
My totally normal and useful Kleavor answer:
Klefki @ Choice Specs
Ability: Prankster
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Steel Beam
- Flash Cannon
- Draining Kiss
- Foul Play
I need help 😭
Focus Sash Magician might be better
Well I don’t think there’s anything Klefki can really pick off with that set
I wouldn’t put specs on klefki either, it’s not how to maximize its strengths
Yeah, focus sash magician works better
This is my current build for ru
Special Lucario
Spikes stockpile quagsire
Dragon dance Salamance
Expert belt lycanroc
Choice Gardevoir
Ans black sludge willow sub gengar
Thinking of switching gengar out for a hazards answer
Hm
You’re getting rid of the ability to tera by putting black sludge on gengar
I think you should really have some hazard removal bc I don’t see this team winning games in the long term
Nor short term, it lacks power
To be honest the team isn’t the worst if you put like a super fang defog noivern instead of gengar
Swap spikes for rocks on quag
Wouldn't doubling up on flying/dragon open me up to ice due to Salamance who also might get swapped due to usually ending up a trade (its terra fire)
It’s not like Gengar is an ice resist itself
True but doubling up seems like it might be an issue but im novice at this also considering switching my life orb Lucario to physical
I don’t think lucario has the power in this tier to be anything other than an E-Speed sweeper
And even then, I would put muscle band over it because the combination of rocky helmet users in the tier and life orb run it down far too quickly
Started down here to use it its one of my favorites
Whenever I see Lucario I just think it’s lunch
Hippo can take it down most times without even attacking
I think if you want a team focused on lucario you need more offense on that team
Ah
Lycanroc's current set is Accel, crunch close combat and fire fang
Started with Stone egde as a secondary stab but swaped it for combat
What is fire fang for
