Is it haram to ignore parents? I am aware that being disrespectful to ones parents is considered haram but if the parents are abusive and yell at you, is it haram to ignore it?
Because according the hadith Muslim, The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "He who believes in Allah and the Last Day must either speak good or remain silent.
So is it better to remain silent or respond in such situation?

Islam is a pretty logical religion. If something is causing you harm, then prevention of that harm generally tends to be the first order of business.
If this is referring to your specific situation, then yes, just follow the hadith and remain silent instead of engaging with abuse in return.
Ultimately, Allah knows your situation and you are accountable to Allah for trying to do your best in your situation. If you fear you are sinful in your dealings with your parents, make tawbah, but also seek help to minimize the situation occuring to begin with through whatever means are available to you.
