Not sure if you are supposed to have hands in the main menu, but I don't see mine. Can't pray to start the game and have redownloaded, not sure what to do. On valve index.

Yes you should have hands in the main menu
check if your controller are paired with your software correctly. maybe start a different game and see if your hands are there.

There is an issue with Index controllers not being detected properly, I believe there is a fix
I can't view the threads where this happened before at the moment, but:
Make sure the game window is the active window
Check that the game isn't pausing when it is not the active window or the headset isn't detected. There should be a setting somewhere like "Pause on focus lost" make sure it's unchecked.
