Why Your Friends List May Appear Empty
When VRChat logs you out or loses connection, it can temporarily show 0 friends. This is usually caused by:
- A temporary service outage or sync issue
- Connection problems between your device and VRChat's servers
In most cases, the friends list returns on its own once services recover. [Friends list disappeared]
Steps to Try
- Check the VRChat Status Page for any ongoing incidents. If there's an active issue, just wait for it to resolve.
- Confirm you're on the correct account — sign out and sign back in using the same method you normally use (Steam, Meta, Google, etc.). Check that your Display Name and Username look right.
- Log in to the VRChat website and check the Friends sidebar there. If it's also empty, it's a server/sync issue rather than an app problem.
- Wait 30–60 minutes and try again if you suspect an outage or rate limiting. [Friends list disappeared]
