Well yeah, the Quest 1 has been discontinued completely, VRChat dropped support for it last summer and starting soon (assuming it hasn't already happened) all developers will be unable to support the Quest 1 in any way.

The only way to continue playing VRChat on a Quest 1 is by having it connected to a sufficiently powerful gaming PC.

If it it is saying "not enough memory" then that has nothing to do with storage, it is a phone manufacturer lie that is annoyingly common, it is saying it doesn't have enough RAM to show the avatar, quest 2 only has 6GB of RAM (no way to upgrade).

All you can do to make that appear less often is wear avatars with a smaller uncompressed size, the same with other's avatars and you can guess based on world download size whether it will be using up a lot of memory/RAM.

You should also not be multitasking on your Quest if you were doing that.

but even then all the past few updates for quest have made vrchat a broken mess

making avatars that use the standard light shader ( which is broken with the realtime lighting but THEY REFUSE TO FIX IT
and its been that way for 2 years

quest users are at the bottom of the priority list
the devs could care less hoestly
and i speak from 5 or 6 years of of dealing with vrchat

they rather work on a mobile port of the game and pc than fix issues on quest

The most common options are the mod mic wireless or the rode wireless me.

Although any wireless solution would work.

Using a usb c wired mic is an option, but then you have to deal with a hub on the side of your headset.

none of the standalone headsets come with built in FBT, you'd need to buy it seperately from a different company but realistically any headset can use FBT if you buy the correct trackers. The Quest 2, 3 and 3s have hand tracking but id go for one of the Quest 3/3s since q2 is likely to be dropped support wise in the coming year or two

Still haven't fixed my issue with the random stuttering happening, when Im steam home VR everything is fine, as soon as I launch a game on PC, doesn't matter what game, I get these random stutters and they always come in pair. Sometimes they come after 30 seconds, sometimes after a 40-50s. But they always come.

I made a short compilation of these stutters, doesnt matter if im in optimized box, or in a crowded place, they always come, I've tried running on the lowest possible settings and the highest, only difference is the fps is slightly lower of higher, but the stutters are exactly the same.

It means between your ISP to Server got issue temporary which usually resolved within 15 minutes auto.

Cache does not have anything to do with memory, memory is RAM, something you can't upgrade, all you can do is go to smaller worlds and show less avatars.

@mellow breach Quest 1 support was discontinued. So 2 support will also discontinue but it is matter of when to be decided in the future.

You could still use it as PCVR headset if you wish.

@daring swan For the link mic issue, you go to settings on the Meta Link app while in VR, and uncheck Mute Microphone.

You can do it on the Meta Menu on the standalone side too.

When playing on pc Vrchat what refresh rate do you set your oculus 3 to? Since it does add more strain to the game. Especially in bigger worlds. ATM I’m using 90 but honestly thinking of going down to 72

Max refresh rate.

All you could say you loose with a higger set refresh rate is more commonly unstable fps, but you'll basically never get fps to match refresh rate in vrc even at 72hz, and various tech makes unstable fps not as bad as it would be with desktop games.

What you gain is smoother ATW, the reprojection that handles head movement and always runs at the headset refresh rate.

And If you are willingly using ASW then 45fps will feel better than 36fps.

you'll need to be 17+ to play arkham knight, lying about your age on your account can cause trouble later on and will give you access to content you shouldnt have access to (even if its meta who's super family friendly in most cases) it'll tell you how to set it up when you get your headset with a walkthrough

as for the email gmail should work but theres also the option of just using a facebook or instagram account (if none of these options want to work id reach out to meta support via email, theres been a few small cases here and there of it not working)

Bluetooth is a stupid amount of times slower than Wifi, so would never be possible.

But you could just get a wifi router, plug it into your ISP one and set it up as an access point.
If your ISP one for whatever reason has no ports then there are ways to still make it work.

Okay so I need some help and context I’m looking at getting trackers for my quest 3 s, and I have tried the mobile camera trackers, and I tried standable but my gaming laptop lags really bad when I stream my vrchat to my quest including when there’s a ton of people, my laptop sounded like a plane taking off and crashed the game twice, now the question is if I get trackers do I have to be plugged in or can I just set them up with my laptop and then unplug or do I have to stay pulled in? Depends what you want, you can run slime trackers through just your internet, no plugin just play on standalone quest and they work really well

I'm having this issue where my cable is connecting properly but disconnects seemingly randomly from a half a second to a full second or two every 4-5 seconds. Or if i try to enable the link during when it seems to be connected and ready it automatically disconnects.

It was working fine yesterday and without issue for months but I had weird computer issues last night and disconnected the cable for a bit and where I tried to fiddle around with my Bios and tried updating my drivers but I'm unsure if that's the issue since I think I updated them and it wasn't causing the issue

They will need the verification code too which is done separately per project, and is separate from your game. But they can delete any projects you have uploaded.

@raven robin When I was still unused to vr headsets I had more of a problem with sweating but a change of strap or facial interface would likely help you immediately.

Meta sells a facial interface that is completely open on the sides.

But personally I have grown fond of how airy a "Quest pro style" strap is, it rests on your forehead and the headset doesn't touch the rest of your face at all, maximum airflow.

if you're just wanting to use PCVR with your quest + have hand tracking then you could run it through steamlink

very poor is quite a wide range of how unoptimized it could be yeah but you can easily get a model to the poor or even medium ranking if its only slightly over the performance limit in alot of cases + very poor for quest users is generally a very shitty PC conversion (and alot of those PC models they're getting converted from are already poorly made for PC!)
