During setup if you face ur back to the camera it’s basically gonna track you backwards so the legs will switch. Make sure to always face towards ur phone camera during setup. If it continues to happen. Flip ur phone and use the other camera

Even a quick google search would help which in this case looks like its probably a bug again as the same thing happened a few months ago and now people are making posts in the r/facebook subreddit about it again

What you heard is a fumbled together thing, yes very poor has had a warning about it being removed from Quest for a loooooong time.

But what is actually happening next month is that new limits on the size of avatars is being enforced, on Quest this only means a max to the amount of memory (RAM) an avatar can take up, which will be 40MB (download size will still be 10MB).

If your charging port isn't working with any combo of cable or charing brick then it's likely that it shorted out and is physically damaged. I've heard the Quest 3 has been quite prone to that but it's not unheard of on the Quest 2 or other USB C devices. Your best bet is to contact Meta support and use your warranty.

There could be a variety of reasons for your problem. Just start by uninstalling everything and reinstalling and go from there.

if this doesnt fix it make a support ticket to meta and explain that this method didnt work (also check if the cord is the issue via purchasing a new cord theres plenty good ones that're quite cheap on sites like amazon that you could use for testing as meta's cords work just the same and are overpriced) and they'll do some troubleshooting with you but id imagine that if neither of the things i mentioned before work you're gonna need to send it in for repairs :(

another thing you can try is factory resetting the controllers and the headset and reinstall the firmware.

I did! The main issue is that when I turn on air link and open it up on pc and then launch SteamVR or any SteamVR games, it has the game/SteamVR open on my pc but it doesn’t launch on my vr and I only see my Quest Link menu

VRChat is adding a new limit to Quest, a 40MB uncompressed limit, basically to stop people abusing crunch compression as much.

if you find your avatars over this limit [as a creator], youll need to reduce texture sizes, the complexity of animations, blendshape count, or even simplify the meshes making up the avatar itself.

I have the 2 but I haven't played VRChat before but I want to try since my headset is just collecting dust atm.

Q3 is better is virtually every way, but you may find similar experiences with either for VRC. So you'd be good to try it out, and consider upgrading if you like.

quest 2 isnt the best experience in lobbies with 10+ players, and youll likely start to reach below 40fps with no very poor avatars shown
ive not had experience with the quest 3, but it does have better graphics and a higher frame rate. if you find yourself getting a little sick from the low framerate, you might wanna upgrade to quest 3
both are about the same in quality for PCVR [COMPLETE ASSUMPTION], but the quest 3's passthrough, superior resolution, and IOBT make it more worth it

The Quest headsets have had hand tracking on the standalone version for a long while now, none of it is in Beta.
The PC formerly Oculus store version does not have hand tracking and no indication they plan on supporting it, assuming they even can? (Meta was supposed to make it available to use, but I don't think they did)

Hand tracking in SteamVR is happening soon™, with the SteamVR Input update. If you want to use Airlink/Link then you'd need to find some third party addon for SteamVR to pass its hand tracking data through, I don't know if that exists. Virtual Desktop should just work though.

Why I mentioned it in context of the SteamVR Input update that VRChat is working on which would allow for skeletal input to be used, which Virtual Desktop just so happens to be providing to SteamVR as well.

If you try using hand tracking with VD in the SteamVR home then you will see proper hand tracking.

you have to remember that the controllers and the base stations really have nothing to do with the headset itself. everything is driven by SteamVR. the controllers track separately from the headset, hence the need for the dongles.
