If ur not Centered in ur play space that can make it so you don’t show up in mirrors. Just hold the oculus button on controller to recenter. Sometimes it’s just an Avi problem

Blendshapes can take up a up a noticeable amount of MB, so if you have VRCFury installed then try using the "blendshape optimizer" component.

yeah and uploading the model to pc gives me an uncompressed size of 33mb not 41mb without vrcfury.

And wifi. If your pc is struggling but your wifi is god tier there will be lag on airlink, If your pc is god tier and your wifi is okay then there will also be lag

But with cable, if your pc is amazing then there will be minimal lag

Question for the sake of physics on quest models, can cloth physics script be used on quest models? context i have a female model i put together and theres 3 different hair meshes all really long so I want to give them somewhat believable physics but theres too many bones for phys bones limit

Make each hair mesh its own avatar instead of trying to stick them on the same avatar

If you know how to use blender you can rerig your bones for your hair assets to have less bones and be able to keep physbones on all the hairs.

1. Standalone sucks, I hate it as a standalone user myself who doesn't have the option to change that at the moment, but it's fine besides that
2. standard headstrap, I don't like it a butt load but it gets the job done for me cuz I simply used it for so long it doesn't matter to me anymore
3. I use over ear but that's not exactly optimal, use whatever you want there it doesn't matter
4. I know I said I'm standalone but I have knowledge with this, don't buy the official link cable, they up charge the HELL out of it for literally no difference

quest 2 is still perfectly serviceable but with any headset you MIGHT have to do some tweaking to the visuals to get the most optimal look for what you'd like in virtual desktop or steam vr etc but yeah you're gonna get eons better visuals with PCvr on vrchat than standalone

according to my PCvr quest 3 friends it ain't worth it but idk if that's just them

quest 3 does have better lenses and IPD adjustment so that's something to consider

Tried googling the issue but it keeps telling me to go into the settings, which I can't do because I can't even sign in.

Update: After the umpteenth time, restarting it finally worked. Shouldn't have to restart more than once to fix an issue, but nothing that a little patience and head-bashing won't fix.

What you are probably thinking of is uncompressed size, which can be higher than 10MB, but is limited to 40MB.

so i own a pair of sony mocopi’s and i use them everytime i play vrchat if your interested, its standalone, pocket sized, no wires, doesn’t require a PC, all you need is a mobile device, it can be Android/iOS/ipad/tablet, anything, downside is drift isn’t too much to worry about, plus its compatible with slimevr so you can use their server,

It runs vrchat like any other system but the downside is you cannot see PCVR avatars, if you want to use games like steam you need to hook it up to a PC but overall quest 2, 3 runs the same but its just quest 3 has color passthrough while quest 2 looks like your looking into an 90s black and white camera but they do say that quest 3 has better graphics so try a quest 3 in my opinion, i have a quest 2

but if you want, go for quest 2 because its cheaper

And mocopi isn't usable until you hook it up to SlimeVR, and even then it is meh.

It has a reason to exist (reliably gotten, better form factor) and I have tbf not seen anyone use it with SlimeVR yet, which should make it better, but if you were to want a good bang for your buck than it is has worse specs and a higher price than the other IMU trackers.

That limits you to camera FBT (which looks good on the outside, not to you).
And IMU trackers like SlimeVR or Mocopi (with mocopi you will likely end up just running it through the official SlimeVR integration anyway, FBT looks better with it.).

IVE RUN INTO THIS EXACT ISSUE. It’s either what sloth said orrrrr the uploading process was glitched out. I had an avatar creator load their avis into a world yet half of them when u put them on u just got stuck. No code just the avatar it’s self was broken :/

It is a design flaw so yeah, it can happen.
And no definitive fix has really been made, but while difficult you can open the front and give the exposed PCB, that is the cause of the breaking, a coating to protect it, it is just hard to do.

Also likelier that you'd break the headset by opening it up, so the sensible thing would be to just not care about it until it happens, nothing lasts forever.

It has to do with a slow buildup of condensation being brought through the ventilation, right past the exposed PCB they just put there for some reason.
I haven't myself bothered to take a look yet, but supposedly you can see the PCB from the outside, looking in through one of the vents, so if I wanted to worry then I'd take a look at it every now and then and stop using the headset and attempt to fix it once it starts looking corroded.

While it is a day one unit, I have only had it for 4-5 months, got it second hand, about the price of a Quest 3.
And while I do like the headset, if I wasn't so interested in face tracking then I would have gotten a Quest 3, I think the rational choice is to just get a Quest 3, Meta is not supporting the Quest Pro.

With Face tracking, your only other option is an XR Elite, or a Pico 4 Pro (that has to be imported from China through sites like Aliexpress).

Basically, the XR Elite is a headset that isn't super well liked, it isn't that well made and with the optional Face Tracking module you need to buy you have less FOV than a Quest 2.

The video system is actually very dependent on your side.
I am not sure I completely understand you, but if you aren't using the main quest account (the account that setup the Quest in the first place) then the vast majority of videos and music inside of VRChat will not work.

It is a weird limitation that VRChat has to work around, but apparently only the main account has permissions required to make video and music listening possible in VRChat, ||excluding special cases where the video or music is directly linked to, ie not hosted on something like youtube/twitch/soundcloud/tiktok and etc||

You can use a USB C to USB A cable, wired link is pretty much literally just the wireless variant, but instead of wifi, it is a usb connection.

I should be a USB 3.0 cable and port (on your computer) though, otherwise the resolution will be lower.

the whole quest linking thing is that you are using it as a pcvr headset instead of standalone

Quest processor is weak, and VRChat asks a lot out of it, avatar audio adds extra load on top of that.
Your FPS in VRChat is basically dependent on how little the processor has to do every frame.

And then there are a few other issues that would need workarounds for it to safely work, because it was stupidly easy to crash Quest users using avatar audio.

Yes, freezes and lags are common on Quest, especially on Quest 2. It gets amplified when people changing their avatars all the time or use excessive particle effects. Do not show everybody's avatar, maybe adjust your settings to hide avatars of specific user ranks completely an/or disable "Lights and Particles". Do not stand in front of mirrors and turn them off when you don't need them.

Did you try recalibrating it? Don’t know where that is specifically but it’s under settings related to controllers
If that doesn’t (or didn’t) fix it, and you’ve had it for only three weeks, I would recommend contacting meta support to get it replaced under warranty

have you tried doing an oculus driver update? also do you use wifi or a ethernet cable for your pc cause a poor wifi connection or slow internet speeds in general can cause "wavvy" visuals with quest

No I haven’t I’ll do a driver update and see if that helps! Also I do use wifi so I’ll look into ethernet. But yeah it’s odd, after my game freezes even for a second it makes the world move with my head slightly but when I look over at my pc everything looks normal

Best advice I can give you is to just play for a couple of hours and you won't notice the difference anymore. More accurate colors are better. I wasn't even aware of the color differences between Standalone/PC before and I'm glad they made the change, even if it felt off at first.

its generally that power-saving mode 25/20% mark that'd do the most damage, even ive played while charging it (thats cause i despise my quest) and there's definitely been a slower charge over time but if you're someone who constantly uses their quest it wouldnt really be noticable at all (you'd be used to it taking longer to charge)

All batteries take damage as they are used, they don't last forever.
Now, charging continually isn't best practice, but you'd probably only add a few extra months onto the battery's health if you did best practice (which would be keeping the battery between 60-80%).

My Quest 2's battery isn't doing great anymore, but I do have a powerbank that can keep it going, even actually charge it, so I haven't found the bad battery health to be a completely lost cause.

In the end, will you still use your Quest 2 after having had it for 2-3 years?
(Sure wish replaceable batteries was a requirement).

Okay it did NOT fix itself, it's still happening. What happened before is that it kept loading between her home world and the default vrchat home world until it put her in that "oops, something went wrong" world, and she managed to turn that setting off, but she couldn't join anyone. Like she was getting invites and was able to click "join" on them but it would just not let her in, it would put her in a loop again

I'm helping her factory reset her headset but if this doesn't work I don't know what else to do. She's cleared out her cache, uninstalled and reinstalled vrchat, the whole thing.

doesnt matter what charger you use, your battery will degrade if you use it while charging. If you want to prolong your battery life, the you should avoid letting the headset reach 0% and never fully charge it to 100% keep it near the 70-80%, sure this will decrease your playtime per session but you will get more sessions out of it! If you find that your battery has degraded pretty bad, you might be able to get it repaired at some shop or you can buy an external battery pack and use that as your main battery.
