All of them should be able.
You just can't use raw youtube links, needs to be put through a resolver like nextnex or a instance of Vroxy https://github.com/techanon/vroxy.

If you have a url that ends in mp4 (or other format) then they should just work, assuming the server has a valid SSL cert.

Streaming is far harder as the only way, to my knowledge, that you can have them is by restreaming them, basically running a streaming server that takes the stream and sends out, for example, a HLS stream.

You unfortunately cannot make a video player that adds the resolver link to any inputted youtube link.

crashing is entirely dependent on the world's processing weight and how many models are loaded (with their respective weights), either dont go to worlds that make you crash (or go in private lobbies), or limit the number of avatars rendered (quick menu>settings>scroll down a fair bit)

Only thing I can think of is Virtual Desktop. It generally works pretty well. Especially if your pc is hooked up with an ethernet cable

That’s how I do it and I haven’t had to touch oculus link since

Downside is that it’s like $20 but it’s well worth it

Virtual Desktop is also good for people who have graphics cards without video encoders. Usually VR won’t work at all without one. (Just don’t try going to LSMedia if you don’t have a video encoder bc it’ll instantly crash you)

so, i have a question about the quest 2, since i'm considering purchasing one (currently on ivry). how does the sound work on it? are there little speakers that are placed where your ears are? just curious because i do have bluetooth headphones i'm using for what i have for now, and if the sound system isn't great on the quest 2, i'd wanna use my bluetooth headphones with them, which then opens up the question of if you can even use bluetooth audio with the quest 2 at all. just curious so i know what i'm getting myself into here

sound is pretty good on quest 2, theres small speakers on the headset somewhere. as for bluetooth headphones i googled and there is no official support but there are workarounds

I would say the sound on the quest 2 is acceptable

The problem is that I believe the headset has problems connecting to Bluetooth audio devices with low latency, but that may be a problem that has been fixed with time

Although, if you have wired headphones, I found that works fairly well

The main thing that is more objectively lower quality (unlike the quest’s audio output which could just be me being picky) is the microphone

As far as I can tell, the quest can only take audio in from its microphone and no other source

And the microphone is… acceptable but on the lower end

Don’t get me wrong, people come through it well, you can always tell what someone is saying and it isn’t easy to peak

But it is a fairly low quality microphone

The actual bad part is that the microphone has a tendency to die sometimes where it will just completely fail and all audio that goes through it is just garbled

There is an easy way to fix it when it does happen, but idk what it is since I am not on a quest 2

that’s because they are all very poor cause people don’t care to optimize enough for a multitude of excuses

But the quest just can’t handle that much, so it is hard coded into VRChat to block anything very poor

Some of them may also not have quest versions of their avatar

Tho short answer, no you cannot disable that feature

Anybody encounter a bug where certain avatars will not show the Quest hand-tracking to remote users if that avatar is fully shown? Those same avatars seem to have desync parameter states under those same circumstances as well. If they hide all but my avatar, things return to the states they should be in and suddenly they can see the fingers moving on the avatar. It's annoying. It could be something in the animator, but I have no idea what it could be. Others have bare minimum animators and it still happens to them too.

Like, the PC version isn't even set to its default states. And the Quest parameter list matches the PC parameter list exactly. It's like every parameter is 0 (even after resetting avatar). Then they hide certain things and suddenly the avatar is in it's default parameter states.

Circles on the ground that follow you? Sounds like you have Earmuffs mode on. Open your Quick Menu (the small one), there should be a wedge at the top that says Earmuffs On, you can click it to disable.

i have to jump through several hoops to get my pics, just because my account is a secondary account

i never figured out how to do the oculus app link, so i just have to plug it into my laptop, reboot the headset, give my laptop file access, then i get my files

i was playing a game on my laptop and streamed it then i got logged out . and my password won't work i tried changing it but then my phone changed the password on me i know this sounds dumb but it's what happened. i emailed vr chat but I'm not sure how long that will take do you have a password recovery or anything to help me please reply......

How am I supposed to prevent crashing I’m going back to the main menu on my quest. When are they going to get their act together?

should really have a public PSA board somewhere with this information

in the quick menu's settings board, theres a setting to limit the number of avatars loaded. jack that down (mine is set to nearest 2 if within 5 meters), then go to the big settings menu where it has the avatar quality limiter and set that to "poor" or better. for extra credit, go to your shield settings and force all non-friend avatars to fallbacks. using this set of settings i can load 6-8 avis on screen (depending on the world) before i start getting issues and crashes. do also note that the machine will get hot, and probably crash when it gets too hot

Quest 3 better have PC processors they failed to put that in the pro and the pro even had 12 GB of RAM with could’ve handled a PC processor

That isn't how it works.
Neither the RAM or PC processor part.

A "PC processor" is very power inefficient compared to an ARM processor, so you'd be unlikely to get much battery out of anything using one of them and if things have been done correctly then the ARM processor can outclass the "PC processor".

What’s the best full body tracking for Qiest 2 does anyone know? I know vive tracking exists but is it compatible for the quest 2?

Not standalone (i.e you would need to run the game on your PC to use Vive Trackers).
Best (in regards to cost and functionality) in my opinion would be SlimeVR, but it is still pre-order or DIY.

Basically yes, you still need a phone or some sort of computing device to run the SlimeVR server (technically it could also just run on the headset, but not sure how viable that turned out to be). It uses the "OSC tracker" feature that was recently released to connect to your Quest (OSC being a way to "connect" things).

You should do some more research on your own because FBT is still very enthusiast tech, SlimeVR being extremely so since the only ones with it right now have built them themselves from scratch, if you were to pre-order them right now though then you'd get them some time, probably, late April.

Other options that exist is Haritorax, but their tracking quality isn't as good as SlimeVR.
And Sony Mocopi, which isn't out yet, also has questionable tracking quality and is for the moment exclusive to Japan (when it launches next year).

The Pro controllers are unlikely to go on sale, they are quite premium, speaking from personal experience.
And if they are, they certainly aren't going to go on sale not even a month after launch.

It does not optimize the avatar, it is just useful if you have two versions (PC and Quest) and want a tool to make some things easier.
