the tracking can be a bit finnicky, especially if you dont have enough light

it tracks my hands, my avatar's middle finger goes down when I put my middle finger down, but it doesn't actually let me move

make sure the palms of your hands are facing toward your headset when you move, i find it best to not go beyond 40 degrees below eye level

sometimes i find that the thumb causes issues with input reg as well, fixed by putting your thumb down first rather than touching tips

in general though its really touchy, and the increased difficulty using the radial menu (the only way to access it being on the quick menu wings) means i only really use hand tracking when im mirror dwelling

lack of radial menu also means you cant access things like personal mirror, chatbox, or radial menu settings (relevant to me because my main avi has a feature that requires resetting OSC)

the quest plugged into the PC is counted as PCVR, you won't be locked to seeing only quest available avatars

the C to C cable included with the quest is short and can only be used for charging really (unless they are giving you a separate cable), the quest 2 itself does not come with a link cable, but you can get C to 3.0/3.1 link cables on Amazon for about $15

do not get the official Meta Quest link cable, it's ultra overpriced

Dropping to half the frame rate is a symptom of reprojection. I would not recommend messing with those settings, but it would mean that reprojection will happen at a low frame rate than before.

This would have the downside that your reprojected frame rate would also be lower. At 72 fps, that would be 36 fps.

Quest standalone VRC feels very limited though, it's honestly kinda debatable whether or not it's an improvement over non-VR PC VRChat

75% of avatars are fallbacks either due to not being published to quest or performance blocking, and a lot of worlds are also not available on Quest

On standalone quest, is the quality sort of blurred for anybody else? Not super blurry, but you’re able to tell that it’s just the tiniest bit blurred. I’ve adjusted the straps and lenses, so it’s probably just my vision. I’m also extremely new to VR so idk what I should’ve been expecting either. Yep! You can buy models from multiple sources, but I mainly use Gumroad and Payhip, although there are also other sources like booth. But keep in mind, you will need basic Unity knowledge to upload an avatar after you buy it, unless the creator of the model does direct uploads (which is usually an extra fee).

Quest 2 abruptly disconnects from my Wifi/router after a few days of usage. I cant bring it back to recognize it.

• Restarting the router does not help.
• Restarting the headset does not help.
• Reconnecting to the Wifi in my headset does not help.
• Re-setting up the Wifi connections in my headset does not help.
• Separating the 5 Ghz and 2.4 Ghz access to my router does not help. (It worked for a few days, then abruptly disconnected again. First from 5 Ghz, then 2.4 Ghz.

In safety settings you can make it automatically show "poor" avatars as well.
But for very good reasons, it does not allow you to automatically show "very poor".

It is a community problem that most Quest avatars are "very poor".

Sounds like you need to change your safety settings then.-

But you should check the documentation https://docs.vrchat.com/docs/avatar-fallback-system because here it lists what each symbol means.

That way you can more directly see why avatars are being hidden.

Deliberate crashing would be hard to completely stop, but the passive crashing (running out of RAM) is something they are working on fixing with "texture memory".

Could be other passive things causing crashing, but avatars and worlds using up too much RAM seems like a common reason for crashing on Quest.

Im fine with handtracking however with just the vr without controllers I cant get past the setup screen where you need to pair a controller.
