I added a new override, replaced rock and roll with it (it just changes some key shapes and moves my fingers a bit, I have plenty others like it). However, It's very slow and repeating itself over and over. My eyes and mouth are constantly looping between normal and the the override.

After remaking the override and reuploading it's now happening to my other overrides too. I'm very confused.

Would there be any reason for an animation to play in Unity's playtest but not in VRC? I made a blink animation that blinks, blinks twice, blinks again, and then ends with a facial expression before looping, but only the facial expression plays in VRC despite the entire animation playing in Unity. The timing is as if the blinks were there, but they aren't.

Hello, was wondering if anyone can help me with this. I got most of this to work so there's likely an easy fix to this problem im having with this animation override im working on.

Easiest way to put it, my gun shoots as soon as it's pulled out. How would I go about having it brought out without having it fire automatically, yet fire on will?

And I was just watching a video on that muzzle animations from FAL. Looked like he put a rotation on the 2D image, then sped up the particles to give it an illusion of a 3D effect?

for props with animations like that, i have one animation override which enables the prop (gun), and another animation which enables the gun and the soudn effect

As far as I know the easiest way to accomplish that is to set the gun shooting animation/sound on a different override. And then triggered with whatever hand you don't have the gun in. So for example you could have the gun mapped to "finger gun" and then have the shooting animation map to rock and roll or something like that

Then just trigger it with whatever hand isn't holding the gun so you'll keep the gun out and also trigger the shooting animation

I have a problem and I wanted to ask here.. cause I'm more than 2 hours trying to fix this... I made an animation, where passes 14 seconds and the hair of my character becomes longers.. then 40 seconds more and it becomes more longer. I put that on my animation override I created, to do it whenever I want, but tried everything and not working, the Animation.enable, the animation.playautomatically... don't know what to do, If I only do Animation.enable on the override, it will show how my hair changes, yes, but the time is not resetting to 0 when I stop doing the emote.

update on yesterdays question.. i am having an issue with animation overrides where if an object is set active on my face/head as part of the override it will NOT appear whatsoever. i found out yesterday that it actually does appear for other players, just not me, presumably because its on my face/head. i am not using a mirror to check for its presence, i am using a camera and still dont see it. is this intended? any way to bypass it?

humm. Try leaving the object active then enter the game and look at a mirror. It should work like any other mesh prefab. If it doesn't, your cached version of your character might not be showing it and you may need to flush it

I spawn into a personal room with just a mirror and a chair and some spotlights to check things - sometimes you'll see a shadow of some geometry before you can see the object itself

Sounds always seem to work for me as long as it's the object they're attached to being activated and not the sound itself. The sound is set to play on wake and the object it's on is simply made active.

Particles don't cause lag if it's just a sprite. It depends how you configure it and if it contains collisions. The amount of particles can be pretty high without a problem.

hey friendos, I need someone to stop me if I'm going to screw up my idle animation. I want my cat to gently wag her tail when standing around. I think I have to create an animation, set up the movement, put it in Legacy mode + Loop, then plug it into a new Animation component on my avatar. Is that it? So, i searched back a couple weeks in this section, and despite the looping emotes question being asked about 20 times, nobody seems to have answered any questions regarding why they are with Loop unchecked.
Actually, some suggest the issue only exists on generic, non-humanoid rigs

So I've seen some animations where people Have multiple copies of them self or even other avatars dancing and I'd like to do this myself (don't worry I won't be bothersome with them like some people are. I'll mostly just use it when in private world's with friends) and so I made a copy of myself on each side linked it to my original armature and attached a dance animation. Then in the animator properties I linked them so that the first animation should automatically also trigger the other 2 and it seemed like it was working in unity. So I set the dance on my main to replace one of my emotes (which as set up in unity should trigger the other 2 to also simultaneously dance). But when I trigger it in game it doesn't triggered the animation for the 2 extras and they just stand in T pose while the one that is actually me dances

So is there an easy way to accomplish this or do I have to build it all into 1 animation file?

And if I have to put it all in one file is it possible to somehow copy and paste the dance for each avatar somehow or do I have to build it manually for the other 2 since they obviously have their own set of arms and legs and whatnot?

Any advice or tutorial links would be greatly appreciated

I believe I've seen people do this before but I'm not sure how. Can you use an animation file to start as a preset and then save it as a different file as you change things you want? I have a file where my fingers are a fist, and I want to use that for another animation but also add things to it without overwriting the first file

@short oxide In regards to looping emotes, i finally found a solution for my own model. Firstly, the model must be set to humanoid and not generic or any other in the rig. Secondly, it needs to have a proper T-pose bone setup.
For my non-humanoid, i created a set of fake bones in a T-pose design and after making sure my animations held no Armature or other bones linked to my line of fake humanoid skeleton my emotes finally no longer were looping. They were a bit off-center but that's fixable.

I'm probably missing something simple, but my hat doesn't disappear on trigger, I have 3 objects - 2 enable, 1 disable = hat in hands + rod works, hat disabling from head doesn't (eventho it shows as disabled in unity) http://prntscr.com/i96nj2 http://prntscr.com/i96o5p yet in game it's still on head, I'll keep trying out things, and maybe some1 knows where I'm missing a step

so I'm making some jets to fly out and past me with sound, it's a different seprate object was able to get them to work before, maybe now i'm just tired and am missing something simple myself, but no matter what i do i can't get them to trigger in game. character asks like an animtion is playing. but non of the effects or models show. could just be forgetting to uncheck something or check a button, just any help would be great. Getting annoyed with it not wanting to work all of a sudden lol.

@pale warren ok so yes apparently it is the thing that I didn't disable it in duplciate hierarchy, and mirrors do not show disabled objects from what it seems (other person could not see it on my head on the one of verrides i had )
