no was just thinking that it would work normally by just adding the 6 different audio sources
Nope as the guide says you need to encode the video again with the settings shown and host the file yourself somewhere

Most common point of failure is not setting the reference camera though
Did you also set the layers as instructed in the guide

So, I just started playing vrchat again, and wanted to make a new home world, and I've got my design done, but how on earth do I do literally anything else? I wanted to put a mirror and I'm guessing I need a spawn, and I don't even know how to set up a mirror toggle thing anymore (Note: I'm using the SDK3+Udon)
So manually box colliding an object here and i put a box collider on an empty game object so that i may duplicate and move it around freely so that i may box collide certain complex objects such as this pavilion, is there a reason when i get into the game that the box collider wouldn't work?

I'm working on a large world. Is there a way to increase view distance in a world? I've tried increasing the far clip on the main camera as suggested online but that doesn't seem to help.
@muted bloom I'm guessing you also dropped the main camera into the reference camera slot in the world descriptor?

@karmic iris Is it black in all worlds? Seems to me there isn't some sort of fallback lighting when there's no Realtime DL present. If that room has light probes, you should've lighten up.
What shader are you using? I would suggest poiyomi toon for that type of MMD model(i assume its mmd).

Does anyone know why after one of the latest VRChat updates your avatar freezes in fullbody when moving your playspace further than around 0.5m away from the center of a VRC_Station you're sitting in on X or Z axis? On Y axis you are still allowed to move as far as you want.
Same also happens when the station is moving fast enough, driving a car around 100km/h is enough to freeze avatars in place.
I have also tested older VRCSDK2 worlds, same issue.
any reason why when i press build and test on my world in unity it launches vr chat but then the map isn't updated. even deleting all the assets and only having a plane with the scene descriptor in the scene still spawned me in the old map

Trying to create a VRC Mirror for one of my worlds but it still appears as the pink texture when I'm testing the world through the SDK control panel.
I've properly set up a button that can be used to toggle the mirror on/off but the mirror has no reflection whatsoever. All the tutorials I watched just show people placing it in their world and then the mirror just works automatically.
Can you post a picture of the component that has the mirror?
Seems to be missing a material. You can add one with the shader "FX/MirrorReflection" or just search for "MirrorReflection" and drag it to the component

if it's still a problem, it means your spawn it's either inside your floor or below it
The thing is, this is a seperate place besides my spawn. You walk through a door and it takes you to this place, but when they go through the door they just fall through the floor in this place.
You could use a box collider instead. If you look at the mesh on your mesh collider, it says "none" perhaps that is the problem with your floor. If you dont have a mesh, you should use box colliders. Limit your mesh colliders as much as you can.
I'll try swapping it over to a box collider and see if that works

They're supposed to fall into the room after they walk throught the door, so they fall a few feet before they're supposed to hit the ground.

You click on "edit collider" and you will see green dots. You move those. One for each face of the cube. The collider is a an invisible cube, so you want them to touch the top part of the cube

MirrorReflection is what the player sees in the mirror

Hello! so i have a lighting problem in my world, my world is a relatively dark world in a forest, The Moon (Sun) is casting its light onto the trees and then the trees make their shadow, but when the trees are not in view distance of the player the tree dissapears to prevent lag, But it also gets rid of its shadow data, How do i prevent the shadow from going away?
The VRChat SDK control panel isn't showing up in the drop-down menu in unity for me anymore.

@random owl I've also been having troubles with the jump mod for my "VRCWorld" I've tried setting the jump power to higher amounts so it would be noticeably better, but everytime I try to test or upload the world the jump power resets back to the default "2" and the changes don't save.

@fleet forge it's just mainly that I'm not gonna spend time debugging something on the wrong unity version and wrong sdk version when it's possible that it could be solved just by being on the right version ๐

Simple light probe placer isn't supported in Unity 2018 properly anymore you can fix it by following these instructions

You need to select whatever ground you have under the spawn and add a collider for it
Otherwise the game just throws you back home to avoid falling endlessly
Looking more though it's as if you made the spawn point be a mesh?
Spawn point is better to just be a empty game object that you move to where you want to spawn

anyone good at 3d modeling? dug around multiple websites trying to find a detailed and accurate model of the stargate from the sequel series stargate atlantis and while ive found the SG1 variant, i have not found one of this version or at least one that is available to either download OR buy so if anyone can make this and is willing we can discuss more in pms if needed ๐

The reason i want this model is as a stargate fan i wanted to make a world that is a recreation of the city of atlantis in the sequel series, can make the interior of the city myself from memory and ive found models of the exterior on sites like sketchfab and deviantart i cant find the model of the gate itself which ngl is getting annoying
You could model your own without too much trouble, it's a simple thing, the shader itself is the tricky part
i could yes, its the detailing thatll be difficult as there are fine markings on the gate itself, one gate model from SG1 i found that was as accurate as i could find being downloadable was a whopping 300MB ish in size

The system is a bit fragile of because of it trying to work around VRChat limitations

if i were to make rooms with their own sound (rooms will be next to each other)
how would i change the sound area to a more cube like area as opposed to a sphere, so the sound doesnt seep outside of the room into the other room (if i make the sphere smaller, then wouldn't the corners of the room be quiet?)

@reef sparrow the detail maps use the same UVs as the regular maps, only difference is you can have them tile a lot more. They have nothing to do with the lightmap UVs AFAIK

All my triggers broke. So I think it's because I clicked on the "auto-fix" before a build because it was complaining about chairs having same name.

so i have some global visual effects i want to have toggles for so users can turn off. the toggle works until the animation changes. Then the user will see the animation even though the toggle is set to off
Regarding the image:
- RED: element that gets disabled via vrc set game object active = false or true
- GREEN: animation controller on the laser effect controlling what is in the yellow circle
- YELLOW: laser visual effect. only ever moved in and out of the scene, never disabled
so if i have the toggle off, yellow is diabled, then someone triggers green to change, and in result i see yellow even though i shouldn't

Audio Question: Why do some of my Audio Sources have Spatial Blend from 2D to 3D and others say Spacial Blend Controlled by curve?

"Build & Publish for Windows" again, and when you're on the screen that makes you edit the world name/description, another camera will spawn in the world origin (centre of the world) and you can move the camera around and make it look at something then "Upload image"

Hey, so I was working on a world, and it was working fine. Got it to run in game and all that, but I noticed that the video player was too quiet, and my pillows were respawning under the map.
I went to fix the spawn height in the VRCWorld object, and then the audio script, and now when I spawn into the world, I can't move, my menu glitches in and out, and I can only look up and down.
Any suggestions?

Depends on how popular your world is. The more visits and favourites it gets the more likely it will be approved

sorry to bother you all how would i make a teleport door to door with a simple collision? i tried on enter trigger and that works but whenever someone else uses that door everyone in the instance would be ported back to that door. also tried on enter collider but that does not work.

Does VRC_MirrorReflection process the children of objects that have their layer unselected in Reflect Layers? I'm having issues with canvas UI objects causing large frame rate drops when the mirror is active even though their layers are disabled in the mirror component.

I also have a low quality mirror that only has Player and MirrorReflection enabled in Reflect Layers and it also drops frames in the same way

The more objects you turn on in the same layer the frame rate gets worse
All the frame times seem quite normal for this world mirror or no mirror
Wouldn't suggest as having mirror auto on when you join a world though that's a death sentence to some people if they join a populated instance
What frame rates are you getting in front of the mirror? It jumps between 70-85 for me until the objects in that layer are disabled which pushes up the frame rate to a solid 90
I was getting 90 but now after toggling the mirror settings around I'm down on frames
Also if you stand at the very edge of the mirror enough so that culling kicks in the frame rate jumps back up to 90
Yeah okay the numbers are way off to what I see in the world and how many drawcalls are happening
Unfortunately disabling the menu game objects completely isn't an option since reenabling them causes the canvas to dirty and redraw which creates a large CPU spike and reprojection kicks in
So the menu runs with a canvas group and alpha set to 0
Which works fine so long as the mirror isn't enabled
But I'd expect when the mirror is enabled that all of those objects would be skipped since their layer (including the layer of the parent object) are meant to be ignored by the mirror

But yeah there's a lot of lights in the scene, each of those floor columns has a ton of baked lights in them
The outer columns are placeholders that don't show the lighted versions
VRChat invite system died on me so I can't get back to the world anymore ๐
But yeah I can't really pinpoint what exactly is wrong, since most of the profiling data seemed to be normal only that the GPU Elapsed time jumped way more up than you would think when opening the mirror
@chilly grove Any thoughts on how to create an escalator like effect? I don't really need to animate the stair meshes, but perhaps a hidden plane at the angle of the stairs that moves the player forward. Any idea which VRC_action would work?
Maybe a trigger at the base of the escalator with SendRPC that calls UseStation, and one at the end that calls ExitStation?

the regular mirror works fine but the button for the optimized mirror doesnt appear in the world
how do I make a mesh disappear after it hits a collider?

[SDK2] I used the hangout player for in a world testing it many times, it suddenly stopped working without no reason at all. What's going on? Even a freshly placed prefab of the player doesnt work anymore, even though the prefab itself has no changes.
EDIT: Reimporting it helped, yet it is still unclear what caused it to break, since nothing changed on the prefab itself, at least I didnt do any changes
Also for some reason when I shoot the bolt it continues to respawn. Is there any way to make it disappear when it hits the world boundary?

why do video players always work and then stop working. i'm desperate as they seem to never have a clear reason to do so

That's called View Frustum clipping. Not much you can do to prevent it, if something gets too close to the camera it gets culled.
Unity 2019 added an option to make the clipping limits more generous, but for VRChat projects that's not an option cause Unity 2018 is required.
It shouldn't happen in-game though, that's just a quirk with the editor.

Why am I not able to make hand gestures in my world?
Hey VRchat world creators. I wrote some days ago about when i would be able to get enough trust rank to publish a world. Ive logged 6 hours playtime with interaction with other players and 11 friends right now.
Although i like the community of it its taking time of the work i need to do for an online festival im attending. And since im working remotely with my client there is no way of testing the world without publishing it. (locally its fine)
Now is there any way to get in touch with the developers of VRChat to get a clear view of when and if im able to produce this world or not.?

@near escarp Ok thank you. ๐ quick question. Im building with android in mind and in the control panel both windows and android support is classed as YES. That should be fine right? only been working with main VRC Prefab for the world and vrchat mobile shaders.

Always build and test before publishing, if the issue persists unity restart or cache clear

Hey guys lately I am getting these errors which are annoying, when uploaded there doesn't seem to be a problem other than that the video player cant play videos. Im using the prefab from VRC and just put a video in so it plays when loading in into the world. I have tried using the newest SDK version, an older SDK version reinstalled that version of Unity and the problem still persists, anyone has an idea?

Hello everybody. So im making my first Avatar world & i made a button for the avatars. so they can spawn. The problem ist when i toggle it all avatars spawn but after pushing the button off and on again there is only one avatar left

Hey guys, quick question. Is there any way to get an image in unity to have a transparent background other than by making it a sprite? I have this like ornamental gold outline image that Im using to decorate some walls, but sprites for some reason have like a fdlickering/ visual artifact when far away and then resolve when you get closer. I had some buttons that did this too but when I chanegd them to a material/texture and added them that way, they didnt have the same artifact/ficker/popin
