I think the galaxy shader can be a bit hard on some peoples eyes sometimes. I donno whats wrong with cubed tho, its really simple and you might wanna update because its not supported in 2018 but there is nothing wrong with it

@dapper crag it would probably bother my eyes depending on world lighting and bloom but I have issues with lights and colours giving me headaches or dizziness and to be honest I would never complain about the avatar cause I have options to disable shaders in current year in the app.
Don't worry too much about it is all I'm saying.

@slow jewel The thing about Cubed was that it's advised by the team themselves not to use it as it's discontinued and was only designed as a stop gap years ago. Unless something has changed internally since a little while back then any avatar using them when 2018 drops will break.

Mabye once the update actually goes live, theyll automatically replace it with a similar one that works, but I doubt it

Honestly I've used cubed for a while too, mainly just out of laziness and familiarity, as it just does exactly what I want without all the extra settings and stuff but since it's being broken by the update the best I've found in terms of similarity is poiyomi which you can make look just like it

Mainly just playing with the shadow settings or (in my case) turning them off. and then setting indirect contribution in the lighting settings to 0
And setting up outline as needed.

Doing this makes it look virtually identical to cubed and works with the 2018 update

I've been slowly updating all my models to that setup

For example top pic is when is still had cubed and the bottom one is with it updated to poiyomi using the settings I described above

((Only noticeable difference is the brightness and that has nothing to do with the Shader but with some tweaks i made to the lighting in my world))

and of course because tho sorta limited this game offeres a pretty open creative platform compared to most, and is a place to both showoff and improve our skills

and to colaborate with other creators in a mutual sharing of skills and information

i was more gonna go into that they're arguably the best looking avatars to get yourself represented by, and often times people learn about themselves through those avatar choices interestingly a lot, i actually owe vrchat a lot for me figuring certain things out
