I'll say this, one of the biggest things in terms of what you agreed towards. I really hated the trust ranks, it really ruined alot of social interaction to vrchat whether its a trusted user or a visitor.

hence why when vrchat fixed the vrc trust ranks bug (I call it a bug) it immediatly had a possibitive influence on the popluation of users.

we all know that vrchat is just a free social platform that is available for free to everyone
so everyone can make free or paid content without any conflicts with other creators

because original content can't be changed no matter how different copy might be

there also is no fine line that can tell if something is plagiarized or not, and that is already an active conflict in the avatar creation community

It will just magnify it but many who have problems with it are already selling their work in their own discord

and I dont think that allowing creators to make some things paid in this game means that the whole game will turn pay to win

they spend hundreds of hours on their work so it makes sense that some creators want to be compensated on some things, and its really easy and would be less risky to do that through vrchat instead of outside with no middle man

You're not missing something at all. Most of the sociable players are in private (i.e friends or friends+ etc.) instances. Most of the public instances are filled with either mutes by choice , trolls and sometimes crashers , under-age minors or mirror dwellers. Though mostly it's under-age minors or mutes by choice.

whats the difference between idle and open hand on index controllers?

As far as I'm aware, idle is just any combination of fingers on controller that isn't a preset, and open hand is no fingers on controller.

while hand open is when you stretch open your hand

The idle hand is slightly curled while the open hand is a stretched flat hand with also stretched apart fingers.

Well, the game is pretty large spaghetti it seems like. I dont blame them though. This game is OLD, and the code making up many of the behaviors are likely untouched from when it was first made

And a full code revamp would suck, and implement so many bugs.

Air Link is Oculus' in-house alternative to Virtual Desktop/ALVR, as far as I know - basically just a link cable, minus the cable part lol

Main difference is that the official Oculus one is $80 and uses fiber optics to transmit data, without charging your headset - any other USB C data cable will charge your headset, probably won't cost $80, and will still work just fine as a link cable as long as the cable supports data transmission

USB C power-only cables are probably rare, but are a thing afaik

Eventually after staying in a lobby for long enough a known memory leak will cause your active memory to continue being used up until there is no more left to use and start crashing things, which may be related to your issues when they come up.
