Hey all, this is my second day with this issue lol...ever since upgrading to the HP Reverb G2, VRChat freezes for around 5 minutes on launch in both VR and Desktop mode. Restarting PC changes nothing, nor does reinstalling help. Is VRC just broken for some people rn?

So it took ages but after reinstalling SteamVR, WMR's SteamVR Plugin, and restarting my computer, I managed to get it all open without any of it crashing Steam, and VRChat finally opened immediately with no instant freezes or anything

#

So something tells me the VRChat issues are probably it just interacting badly with SteamVR

#

That doesn't explain why it freezes on launch on Desktop mode too, but maybe I had SteamVR open and I didn't realize so it was still funking with it

hey so idk if this is the right place to put this message but i was wondering if anyone knew of a situation similar to this: my account has been acting weird lately to the point i can’t even play. at first i thought it was because of the new years crowd but now my game won’t even load. it flashes from the game to a black screen like strobelights and i can’t even move the avatar is just stuck in place. idk it’s just annoying at this point i had to factory reset my headset and everything because uninstalling and reinstalling didn’t work. and it’s still not working after all of that! idk what i could have possibly done wrong. also, i’m on the quest 2, no pc, internet is in “good” standing 🤷🏽‍♀️ maybe it was just dumb of me to uninstall when the servers were just crowded a few days ago. i must’ve screwed everything up.

Your sticks are the problem your headset can’t detect them and therefore shuts down the game I’ve had this problem in the past when you start your headset instead of entering vrchat off the bat give it a second to process the sticks this way when you load in it will have had enough time to sync with them and detect them. If this doesn’t work you can also try Restarting the headset and playing another game real quick for it to detect the sticks then enter vrchat.

Sometimes it can also just be the area connection of the WiFi to your headset If you use oculus link you would have no problem however if you use the headset alone you may experience some WiFi connection issues which can cause sudden shut downs from the game not having or losing connection.

@rancid jewel A few ways you can enhance phantom touch...Use an avatar with your proportions and human-like features, move & turn irl as much as possible (no joysticks), wear shoes when you play, stop light-leakage (dim lights or use purple/red bulbs), cuddle with other players infront of mirrors, try developing phantom smell first (visit one of those hyper-realistic food worlds). Alternatively, walk around touching surfaces, give people high fives/fist-bumps/hugs when you greet them, and try playing games that require coordination & movement in VR (Creed boxing, echo arena, the snowboarding/skating worlds in VRChat.

If it’s any comfort, it’s probably just a bug and you’ll be able to fix it. Oculus products frequently have audio issues and they’re rarely permanent. I know Jack-all about the rift though, so your best best is the “user support” thread...
