I would recommend the Oculus Rift S only if you're willing to buy the Modmic wireless due to the risk of the Oculus Rift S integrated mic suffering the infamous robot bug. If you don't want buy the Mod mic or can't due to financial reasons then your only other budget option is the Oculus Quest 2.

I can't compare the mic quality since I planned ahead by ordering the Modmic before the Oculus Rift S was acquired same goes for the Arctis 3s and batteries, amvr grips and Improved wrist straps.

Note that the Rift S does not always have that robotic mic issue. It typically occurs when you don't have enough USB Bandwidth and as the Rift S uses a lot of bandwidth via USB it happens in a decent amount of setups.
In other words depending on your setup that robotic mic issue may or may not happen.

Oh nice! I got the Quest 1 in February before the shortage, but when heard the rumors about the Quest 2 a month before it was officially announced, I sold the Quest 1 for $500 and used that money to pre-order the Quest 2 and some accessories.

I have heard that the Rift S integrated mic doesn't exactly have the greatest mic sound quality though I'm simply basing that off samples I've listened to as I never used the integrated Rift S mic.

The rift s mic itself is fine. The issue is a number of motherboards seem to have issues with the usb controller and cause it to sound like static. I never had the issue on my motherboard, but if I used a cheap PCIE usb card, or another motherboard I would sometimes get the static mic.

It can be solved with a better PCIE card as well

Personally I only allow avatar and voice for everyone, even trusted users. Only friends can do whatever they want. I click show avatar on cool people even if they are not a friend, but randoms stay with no special effects

I found a setting to block all "Very Poor" poor avatars and I sat the limit to 50 meg, that block 50 % of the avatars, many avatars take up more memory then the world they are in 🙂

Just keep in mind that many avatars in VR-Chat is not made by game developers, and avatar optimization is hard, and many avatars are downloaded from web-sites that have free avatars for rendering and 3D printing that is uploaded with some minimal and automated optimization.

Helloo people. Im having some trouble logging into vr chat on the quest. Ive tried logging in with oculus which is linked to my facebook and ive also made a separate vr chat account. Both acting completly uniquely.

My oculous will log in the first time but after i get into home it starts to log in again and stops with 10 percent left. It then freezes

Vr chat account seems to log in fine. But when i get into the world it kicks me straight out and back to login screen thus putting me in a stupid loop.
Ive uninstalled and reinstalled 4 times now and ive got two separate accounts. Im baffled. Any help appreciated ;)

Feel it's worth replying to this because no-one answered it with the actual reason. It's space and bandwidth which actually costs money to maintain, avatar slots don't cost anyone anything, hence why that's what you get. Plus that's only your own avatars, you can store publicly shared content (folders containing other avatars, stuff, etc) and that takes no space.

...Same, actually. People just often say the RX 480 is the bare minimum and the SteamVR performance test actually says my CPUs perform perfectly, interestingly enough.

As for CPUs, I really don't want to replace those, at least not by much. Using anything very modern would be very expensive for me due to all the other things that would need to be switched out too, like my RAM and sound card.

Hopefully this works. Its getting annoying. I have a asus b350f, ryzen 7 2700x and 32gb ddr4 @3000mhz it really shouldnt be crashing this often. In a span of 4 hours lets say id have to restart at least 6 times. And i could literally be sitting alone in a map or in a full black cat lobby it doesnt matter

Theres usually some in the basic worlds, or you can search a type of avatar then select tags or if you see one you like hover over the player and click "see avatar author" and if they have public worlds they show up at the bottom

hmm, something I at least found interesting is that when my friend encountered this problem 4 months ago I suggested TDR to fix it initially but he pointed out his graphics card was in a different slot from standard, turns out he was using a Chipset PCIe lane for his graphics card as opposed to the CPU lanes which was problematic.

Here's a fun card game playable in VR chat:

Texture Transparency on quest avatar is not supported. If you need particles that are not square, you need to provide your own mesh shape for the particles

It always depends on the ammount ot traffic, the type and if it's a propper ticket with detailed explainations / proofes or a oneliner general "i need help" or "pls unban" type of thing.
