As an aside, you must have a VRChat account to upload content. That means you can't use a Steam account, Oculus account, or Viveport account to upload content like worlds or avatars.

This has been asked so much on r/ValveIndex. A quick list of changes:

They use one rotor instead of two, this reduces power consumption, vibration and possibly noise (as in sound).
They rotate 100 times per second instead of 60, so tracking would theoretically be more accurate
They have a slightly larger FOV and range
They don't have to see each other
You can use up to four of them for less occlusion and a larger space.
They do not work with the original Vive and peripherals (including the 1.0 base stations)
They no longer have a sync blinker, which in turns fixes some issues people were having by AC units, televisions and other IR remote stuff, that went haywire when the base stations booted up.

Depending on age you will hear the base stations. Same as hearing old crt tv’s being on or hearing those anti-teen sounds at gas stations in the 2000’s. Adults stop hearing it around 25 or so

@tawdry kayak I would recommend trying with a small group or those you trust strongly, hang out with them and talk to them for a bit, then slowly form a very small group adding a new person in the group one at a time, talk with them, once you feel comfortable add another person, repeat this cycle for awhile and see if any results show! @dapper scaffold some people get fed up with trolls and crashers that they start doing the same once they're trusted, as it shows most avatar features (including animations & particles). That's sadly the reason why I always only have avatar & voice (and custom animations for users and higher) active in my safety settings

go to windows defender then to firewall & network protection and then allow access from apps through firewall. And then there should be a window opening were you press on change settings and then scroll down to vrchat and tick both checkboxes on the right

I used to be in the wtf devs fix the lag camp and it's still applicable to add extent

But it's really people not optimizing avatars and worlds not culling or using static and baked lighting etc

Though in a perfectly optimized room with perfectly optimized avatars with 40 people it still lags so who knows

It's designed so people can't just farm ranks. So the specifics are kept secret. But things like going afk for time, or possibly hanging out in private worlds with only a couple friends compared to meeting new people in publics can make it take longer

Because if you just hang out with the same few people, it only has data on how those same people are around you, but meeting new people, each lobby has a bunch of people, and then not muting or blocking you adds to your trust score.

But yeah. None of us know exactly how the system works. Like some have said they've purged their friends list, and suddenly they dropped ranks. Speculation is that the system doesn't know the difference and just sees that half your friends all unfriended you, so it drops ranks
