enable vive advanced controls in the settings in vrchat. Since you just bought it you wont have to adapt to the control scheme of advanced control because its your first time playing. You select gestures by touching the touchpad, and you walk by pressing it down once and you keep walking until you stop touching the touchpad (with advanced control)

if you dont enable advanced controls you touch it and it enables the gesture and it stays while youre pressing it down, which can lead to accidental gesture activation which is the reason why I recommend every vive and wmr controller user to enable advanced controls

yeah, just increase the helium distribution pump pressure by 1.5x than increase the crystal resonator frequency by 400mhz, don't forget to also boost the memory bus speed by the same amount

At no point should it be taking up 5 gigs of memory in a small world with two people in it. It just accumulates that way over the course of a session. Hell, even after I close the game after 10 minutes of fiddling with task manager at a snail's pace, my PC continues to creak and cry, nearly unresponsive, because of whatever witchery VRC casts on it. I have never experienced this from any other game or program.
I am sincerely unable to comprehend why it's so busted, after all these years.

@vocal shard Needlessly high load from unoptimized content can be pinned on the playerbase, but the ridiculous accumulation of that high load and its perpetuation even in scenarios with very obviously low load is absolutely a fault of either Unity or VRC itself. I'm no expert so I can't point the finger precisely at which, but if something can be done about it, it needs to be done. As far as I've seen the VRC devs have never actually acknowledged the issue outside of pinning blame exclusively on content creators...

I just can't grasp what's so difficult on the software end about directing the game to dump loads that are no longer necessary. When a player leaves, dump off that avatar. When you leave world, dump off that world. Don't just let it sit there accumulating until the entire PC is unresponsive. I understand it's not exactly that simple but fundamentally, I reckon it really is that straightforward.

I think it is a permissions issue. Apps typically don't have access to remove data that I can think of, just append and create and you need to give the app permission to do even that.

Unity has issues unloading correctly without switching scene (so instance or world)

Closing a menu causes unity to initiate some kind of garbage collection, which also cant deal with the garbage that builds up, causing more lag
