Anymore remember when someone found an exploit to run abitrary code on people's pc's so it got updated immediately but all of the crasher clients still had it and people ran around with an avatar that uninstalled their vrchat

I'm looking for some troubleshooting suggestions... frustratingly, there are a couple of worlds in VRC that crash me straight to the desktop upon loading in, but don't affect my friends. "Aurora Nights" being one of them and I really wanted to attend Trance Thursday!!
This happens in both my Oculus and Steam clients, doesn't matter what avatar I use, I've deleted and reloaded VRC, updated my Nvidia drivers, cleared my cache... and none of those made a difference. Windows 10, RTX 1080 Super, i7 6700 @ 3.4, 16 GB ram. I don't experience crashing in any other game, and I have many highly demanding recent games. The only thing I've modified for VRC is using a symlink to move its caching off my boot drive.

Those used to crash me all the time. If you're on win7 then it would crash 100%, on win8 only some players would crash
Could also be missing codecs or something
Check the output log after you crash and see what's the last messages in it

@astral wyvern your issue is most likely caused by outdated hardware. Since big update in April VRChat now requires features that are not present on old GPUs. You need to upgrade your PC/laptop.

VRChat, Altspace, SteamVR home, social experiences -they're all kind of split, trying to do similar things in our current state-of-day.
