BTW For anyone having issues with cache going to their C drive and it filling up, you can use this script to change the location of your cache folder

Select all of it, create a new file and save as change.bat then run as administrator.

Made this for a friend that needed it because his C drive keeps running out of space

If somebody is in a public avatar and has enable avatar cloning checked in settings, you can press escape if on desktop or open your menu in vr to gain access to your laser, then point at the person you’d like to clone the model of and click/pull the trigger

This changes your menu to show them selected. On the right hand side you should see a button that says clone avatar

Well, first thing, you have to a be 'New user' or higher to be able to upload an avatar but the main programs you'll need are I'm pretty sure Blender, Unity, and the VRChat sdk. I'm not very experienced with making avatars but you can also find things on YouTube very helpful as well!

It's an infinite scrolling menu, and allows for much more avatar control. Not only can you do animations via gestures, but also from the menu, or you can also select an entire new mood, that changes your animations set for hand gestures, or other things. ECT.

I never really got into avatar making back then. Only started getting into it when tutorials started showing up. Making avatars before there were tons of tutorials was really difficult. I remember having a hard time even finding an avatar to download. It was a neptune avatar. I then found out how to replace textures in unity and colored the avatar red

Avatars aren't bad as there's a lot of tools, to get around that quickly, worlds though... it's a lot of effort to make and maintain just 1.

you only need to rig your avatar if youre doing it from scratch. Most bases already have bones in them so you can just add clothes and other stuff and then youre done

bases are basically avatars without clothes (and no nips or anything :P) so you can add your own clothes (and often also hair)

deviant art is a good place for female bases. But there are so little male bases that you might aswell use vroid to make one

Most people find MMD bases and piece stuff together or they have a community that has assets such as Bad Co. one of the halo communites in game which has Halo assets for avatars. Then the commissioners people who u pay to make models for you (watch out for some of them as some use content which they can not use for comminsions I.E Halo stuff)

Vroid is quite good, easy to retexture stuff as well.

Blenders good for the full custom, but the less model savvy, vroid is great for avatars.

I just used vroid to make a base and then converted it over to an fbx so I can edit it in blender

I know you can do stuff like cat ears etc too, but it's a bit more tricky to pull off with the hair tools.
